Authoritarian personalities don't care about lies, truth, right, wrong, moral, ethical, etc.
They care about their perception of a "strong leader" who is going to protect them. Period. They will never actually hold a measuring stick against the leader because they would entail their admission they were wrong - and as "subjects of the authoritarian", they don't even have the right to be wrong.
Trump put it best when he said he could walk out on the street and murder someone and his supporters would still stand behind him. His failed mission in Yemen? Nah, they don't care about that. Broken promises adding up big time....they don't care about that. As long as the "leader" is there and talking the talk, they will walk the walk.
This covers about 35% of Americans. The other 10% who support Trump are a bit more fungible - some have already realized they were snowed. Some are in it for the money and don't care if he screws up the country or the world as long as their bank account grows.
Point is, even Trumpies aren't all of one type. But most are. RWA (Right Wing Authoritarians).
If they didn't care about the new standard in lies during the campaign (never before seen by ANY of the fact checking orgs), then they aren't going to start caring tomorrow. It is more important to them to "back the proper horse" then whether or not that horse tramples the crowd.
Liberals have 2 different measuring sticks for lies:
If the president is a Democrat and he makes a statement there must be a mountain of air tight contrarian evidence and detailed forensics, presented and litigated at the highest legal levels, for it to be shown to be a lie.
If the president is a Republican and he makes a statement the only thing required to call it a "lie" is if the statement didn't use the most exact, precise verbiage with an exquisitely defined context with every nuanced detail explained to them, as they constantly require. Otherwise they are instantly "offended" and utilize it for identity politics. If they are "offended" or they can use it for political gain with their subliterate lemmings, context and common sense be damned, then it's a lie.
It's intellectually dishonest to it's core but that is what the American people have to deal with from these miscreants.
What excuse do you have for his pathological lying?
What excuse did Hillary have? she actually lied under Oath to Congress. Did that bother you? She got question from CNN before the Town Halls, and never said she got them. Anything there bother you at all? She staged phony town halls with actors. Is that cool with you? She said there was no "Classified" e-mails. How about that lie? Then she said she turned all the e-mails over. Thats was a lie too. Any reaction there?
When the truth comes out, there is no doubt that the Hillary and Obama Network used the Justice Department to spy on Trumps Campaign. It will come out. Some one will talk. I am sure they didn't cover all bases, thinking they would win and everything would never come out to the public or to Trump. Just a matter of "when" and not if.
