Another group of right wing nutbars spending too much time thinking about where people ought to pee.

On the plus side, both the National Football League and National Basketball Association said if the bill is passed they would consider banning Texas from hosting future Super Bowls and All-Star Games.

Not sure what the heck you're talking about since you were to lazy to post a link.

Texas should file a lawsuit to remove the NFL and NBA monopoly protection. Don't mess with Texas, we are about the largest market you have for sports.

They should remove the monopoly protection for pro sports, period.

Either way, it's a great wedge issue to distract people from issues that actually matter: like the steady replacement of good paying jobs with low wage sh-t jobs, for example.

If the Democrats want to be "the party of the people" again, they are going to have to stop focusing on fringe issues like this.

Here is a link for those too lazy to look it up:

https://www.texastribune.org/2017/03...bathroom-bill/

Said bill is our Governor's top priority. Odd that Texas had no law concerning such since 1845, and it never did seem to be a problem, but now it is an outrage against decency.

Yes, never mind our impressive poverty rate of 17 percent; or that we are ranked 43rd in the Nation concerning education. On the other hand, we are ranked Number 10 in obesity rates (32.4 percent), and we are Number 1 in abuse of children!

We also lead the nation in lack of healthcare access and affordability!

I recall when I used to go to rock concerts, how women, due to the long lines at their restrooms, would join the men's line to use the stalls. I had not realized the mortal danger I was in. Good thing I was not in Amarillo, which leads the state in reported rapes, and is an impressive No. 6 nationally:

I'm glad our Legislature and Governor have their priorities straight.

Gotta love Texas.

All should view the complete documentary Death by Fire LINK

A famous Texas governor is involved in this documentary. A Texas governor of national importance.

Ah, but few are ever going to take time to view anything - as all is "fake" anyway.

I'd bet that not one person from Texas ever heard of this documentary let alone view it.

I did spend some time in Fredericksberg, Texas. What a wonderful town with great people.

The only reason this has become an issue is because Annise Parker made it one in Houston when she made it her #1 priority as mayor to introduce a bathroom bill allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice. She even tried to attach it to war veterans somehow and called it the "Hero" bill. She also famously subpoenaed the sermons of preachers opposed to the bill.

The wording of her bill was too broad and would have caused many problems. Plus, she just reignited the stupid evangelical vote when it was probably waning as time passed.

What was happening for years before this? I don't seem to recall many problems.

Just who are these sports organizations trying to appeal to? I don't get it. Their ratings are down. Young people aren't watching no matter their politics. Why alienate the people who actually watch these sports?

All bathroom bills are stupid including those supported by left-wing nutbars.

Governments should have nothing to do with bathrooms.

On the plus side, when government-supported sports monopolies begin getting into politics, they are on thin ice.

You know the problem is not women in the mens room. We see that on a regular basis.

I don't want some 50yo drag queen in the same restroom as my 7 year old grand daughter.

The law is just to keep the feds from forcing bathroom usage on Texas. Let companies decide if they want to have Unisex bathrooms just like they do Firearms in their business.
