I've never seen you actually debate anyone, period. I don't think you're capable of it. All you know how to do is bark out ludicrous, semi-coherent gibberish that you heard on the idiot radio stations - and you seem to think that the more times you bark it, and the louder you bark it, the more sense it makes.

Very odd. But whatever y'all call that, it sure as hell ain't debating.

Say WHAT????

Sorry, but I am just aghast. I keep forgetting that I am talking to Trumpheads, not normal people.

Let's just say, "no - that is not what I am saying."

And leave it at that, because I don't want ask any more intellectual effort of you than I already have.

Actually my mistake. I forgot the left takes everything literally, has lost their sense of humor and cannot get sarcasm. Zero intellectual thought, just insults.

If the America First Committee had gotten it's way, the US would never have been involved in World War II and we might be living under a Nazi Regime instead of an American one.

What does 'America first' mean for American economic interests?

We tried that before - see The Tariff Act of 1930 (codified at 19 U.S.C. ch. 4), otherwise known as the Smoot–Hawley Tariff or Hawley–Smoot Tariff, was an act sponsored by Senator Reed Smoot and Representative Willis C. Hawley and signed into law on June 17, 1930. The act raised U.S. tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods. Smoot-Hawley did most harm by souring trade relations with other countries. We need to learn this lesson again, I suppose.

If Pat had won in 2000 we would not have troops in the ME today. Thousands of American solders would be above ground and trillions of dollars would have been saved.

I do disagree with him on trade.

The unneccesary war was taken from a Churchill quote.

There is a lot to be proud of and a lot that I am less proud of but we can't go back and change history. Every country has a few things that reflect badly and we are no different. I would like to be proud that we learn from our mistakes and that we are committed to progress but the jury is still out. Enjoy your visit down under.

I'm a minority here. I'm very proud. I've been visiting Australia/New Zealand for 4 months now, and while beautiful countries, I'm still proud to be an American.

Don't you think our government should strive to put American citizens first?
I'm not offended by it. Just not swayed by virtually meaningless slogans. You can attach the phrase to anything without it actually implying anything even remotely valuable.

Your fellow cons would disagree. One of my fav posts on this board over the past few days was made by someone who felt cons should refuse to fight for their country because he has noticed kids going to school instead of to work. Yeah, right. Your so-called president wiggled out of military service because he had a shin splint. Oh, please. Your so-called president and most of his cabinet have stronger business ties with the Russians than they do with the Americans.

Sure, the US can go isolationist and turn its back on NATO and the rest of our increasingly former allies. I'm not exactly sure what that will get us, however. I guess for one thing we could focus our full attention on the Trump Care death panels when 20 million elderly and handicapped Americans will be deprived of any health coverage when medicaid is abolished. Those death panels will be busy killing off uninsured children, as well. Yeah America first, as long as that doesn't include people you cons don't like which amounts to something like two thirds of the country.

Whatever.

If you do not think America should be first who do you think we should set policies to favor over ourselves?

Hoover... Hoover.... oh, yes, I know who you mean! Herbert Hoover, the ignorant Republican buffoon who made a fortune doing business with Russia, who had never held elective office in his life, and believed government should be run like a business and that America was so powerful that we didn't need strong relations with other countries? That "progressive communist?"

Yes, I think I know who you're talking about. Yes, he really was a terrible President, wasn't he? Thank god we learned our lesson, and will never elect anyone so incompetent again.
