This new information does not change the facts in the police encounter/shooting, and shouldn't have affected the verdict, but does give more information on what happened in the convenience store and shows that Brown wasn't a clean cut kid.

Video at NYT link.

10 hours earlier, in the evening, Brown came into the store, gave the store clerks a package (that they sniffed) and in return they gave him a bag of cigarillos. Brown left the bag at the store (for safekeeping?) and returned for it the next day. When he returned for it the owner thought he was stealing the cigarillos and we had the pushing incident.

Apparently the owner was unaware that his staff were doing drug deals at the counter. Dorian Johnson (Brown's friend and "accomplice") didn't mention this to the press. The police knew about it (that's how the journalist found the video) but didn't bring it up at trial - they didn't need to complicate the case to win it. The defense, if they knew, didn't bring it up because they wanted to present Brown as clean cut kid.

The Defense = Officer Darren Wilson

Prosecution = The State/The People

And actually yes, it completely changes the defenses case, brown is no longer a thief running from the police.

So now it is dealing drugs and assault instead of shoplifting and assault.

It doesn't matter if he robbed five stores and assaulted 100 men. Officer Darren Wilson shot an unarmed man six times and let the body lie in the street for four hours. That's the important fact.

When an unarmed man attacks a cop, tries to take his gun and is charging to make another assault, he is essentially committing suicide.

Wilson was completely and 100% justified for shooting down Brown, regardless of what occurred at the store.

It's a ludicrous story. Who reaches into a police car and tries to take a cop's gun? The only people who would buy that story have an irrational fear of black men. Cops are also armed with non-lethal weapons such as pepper spray and tasers. There is no excuse for killing an unarmed man. None.

With a mind like that, is there any wonder the inner cities are in crisis mode.

It matters and matter quite a bit that any person would rob 5 stores and assault a 100men as you say. How could defend that and there again is the problem or disconnect between law abiding citizens and drug selling thugs , enjoying the thug life aight. Might be fine with you but not the vast majority of people out there.

Michael Brown was no angel. Stop the baby treatment of these thugs by their own , and then there might be progress in reducing crime. If he could not get a job or make a living in his area , move out , do something adventurous , something clean and decent for once. All this reversion to dope, tattoos , hoes and banging leads nowhere and it did not help Michael Brown in the slightest.

No one is arguing that Michael Brown is an angel. He was a man, a US citizen entitled to due process and equal protection under the law. I don't have authoritarian tendencies, so I do not support extrajudicial killing by agents of the state. Call me crazy.
