If they get their way in this case, none of us will be safe to express opinions anywhere. This is a much bigger issue than this article describes. Homeland Security must be thinking that the Russian government has already taken over here. If you have no more free articles this month on the Washington Post, I expect many other media will have stories about it, before the morning is out.
They already know. But when millions, no tens of millions of people, complain and criticize them what can they do? Send an army to round up the people? They'd have their own guns turned on them in short order. Besides, they know that if all people do is complain there's not much threat. But they have been getting awfully nervous and this war against "Fake news" proves it.
Today, the Dept.of Homeland Security dropped its demand for Twitter to reveal the identity of a critic, who was apparently from within their department and Twitter dropped its lawsuit to block them.
