Called a Landscaper for some spring mulching. The guy showing up at the door looked like a 20 something college student. It was hard to take him seriously at first, so I asked him if he has done this sort of work. He absolutely did not fit the profile of someone who has landscaper company. Gave me an estimate, which I accepted, all the while wondering does he have a crew, a truck? Will he even show up? Next day he arrives with three "kids" of his age and proceed to do the best quality mulching job we've ever had. Three American kids doing the job we are told "Americans won't do."

How long was the job and how much did you pay?

Why would any young illegal landscape? They were all given in-state tuition and preferential admission to college. They use their grant money to pay tuition while they live in subsidized housing.

Cool story, bro...but nearly all the landscapers and tree-cutters in my area are American. I wonder if those same kids would pick strawberries for 12 hours a day and minimum wage?

I thought Trump was only talking about factories that shut down and only hire American. Not every job.

What does an "20 something college student" look like?

Or did you mean, "I hired an Anglo".

Maybe you should just try again with, "I hired a Landscaper".

Overall, I think you could use some introspection. You just ain't getting it.

Yep, I suspect that it highly depends on your location. If you call a landscaper in rural South Dakota, you'll likely get a native South Dakotan. If you call one in Texas, a Hispanic will likely show up.

How about just coming out and saying, "I did not hire an illegal alien". There, it didn't hurt at all to say it. More people should do the same, hire American whenever possible.
As far as picking strawberries, there are temporary work permits for hiring legal aliens to do that work. I know that's shocking news to many of you. That fact just doesn't fit in with the liberal agenda.

It is turning around fast.
Builders are having hard time finding framing carpenter crews now and the price is making a correction.
After wasting 20 years fighting on price, and trying to convince people quality cost most than illegal labor can provide, I may get back into the trades. Now, if they will meet my price, or go into cardiac arrest.
