I think the necessity of this office might be somewhat exaggerated, we have more problems with crime by resident citizens.

Quote:
WASHINGTON — Stymied on his top immigration initiatives, President Donald Trump is making good on one plan that critics denounce as fearmongering and misleading: opening an office for victims of crimes committed by immigrants, although studies show immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native-born citizens.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly on Wednesday opened the office dubbed the Victims of Immigrant Crime Engagement, or VOICE. He said it will be used to keep victims informed of the immigration proceedings of suspects and generally walk them through the complicated and often drawn-out immigration court process. The office will be staffed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees.

I think this is rather minor compared to resident crime.

Start cracking down on employers that hire illegals and you will lessen the problem.

So what we have here is a president that refuses to do his job and wants taxpayers to pick up the costs associated with his inactions.

This seems more like addressing the symptom rather than the disease, seems more like a publicity stunt.

why do these people get special victim status? Yeah it's a publicity stunt at the expense of the taxpayers.

That's what I got out of this, this money could be spent in better ways rather than to prove a point.

I'm pissed if I'm a victim of a crime by a us citizen. Why should victims of illegals get special treatment? We all know the answer to that.

How about going after employers who hire illegals?

More fear-mongering by Fearless Leader. It's a ridiculous waste of money and resources. President Bonkers loves BIG government. Afterall, he is a Democrat from liberal NYC.
