Okay, but the issue isn't that he's a wimp and a nut.

The issue is that he's petty and vindictive, and has no respect for the First Amendment.

It's all about keeping the Trump show fresh for his cultish believers. It will fade away in a few days just like all of his other BS ideas.

Yes. As the Senate and House Russia investigations heat up again in the coming weeks, look for more "Hey! Don't look there, look over here!" moments from Trump.

Well maybe if he pushed that through, we can also start sue like Rush, Hannity, Drudge, Breitbart, Jones

who hide behind the statement that they are entertainers and not news/commentary.

Don't forgot the one truism that always applies---what goes around etc.

Putin puts people in jail for criticizing him, because he's a crazy person that is anti free speech. Is this the route Trump wants to go?!?!
We have a concerted effort to shut down the Conservative press by foreign actors like George Soros. They've targeted Fox, Breitbart, Drudge & others. Their strategy is to blackmail the sponsors, use their corporate allies at google/twitter/facebook to block content they don't like, take away their advertising revenue & they're literally paying for a propaganda campaign against the right. Obama signed the "combating foreign propaganda act" into law, where now the government can label a media outlet as guilty broadcasting "foreign propaganda" as they have now accused Alex Jones, Breitbart, Drudge, RussiaToday, Al Jazeera et al, in order to shut them down.

As for the corporate 1% media that Trump is at war with, perhaps some rules need to be set? When you have a foreign billionaire, who happens to be the #1 private donor to the Clinton Foundations, buying the NYT to use as a propaganda tool against Clinton political opponents, at what point is it no longer a news source, but a full-on propaganda channel? Same with CNN. How can they employ people who are simultaneously working with the DNC or Clinton campaign? Is it any shocker that they were feeding the debate questions to Clinton to influence the outcome of the election? Or NBC, who had the inside edition film of the "***** grabbing" conversation and sat on it until the night before the debate in order to influence the outcome of the election? Are they still a news source at that point, or a political vehicle?

Very confusing times we live in. The good news is that trust in the corporate media is at an all time low. The genie is our of the bottle & can never be stuffed back in, so at least now the educated now how much value to put in their reports.

Honestly, when did the Republican party become the "We hate the constitution" party? Because all I read here lately is non stop defense of someone intent on violating the constitution in ways unimaginable in the past.

Any other president talking like this would have had his own party disown him within minutes. But folks here? Excuses, false comparisons, and even outright agreement.

Im happy this board represents a extreme minority, but dang folks, this is nuts.

It is coming from the top:

In an interview with Fox News to mark the milestone, the Republican (Trump) called the system of checks and balances on power “archaic”.

“It’s a very rough system,” he said. “It’s an archaic system … It’s really a bad thing for the country.”

Quite frankly, I don't think a lot of people know much about the Constitution. They only know what they don't like, and whether the Constitution or any law says it's legal doesn't really factor into their equation.

So if Trump wants to get rid of the 1st Amendment, is he willing to give up the 2nd Amendment? Since we're ripping the Constitution apart now.
