Looks like the failed Chicago Public Schools have to borrow 900 million just to stay open. Maybe they should just shut down and they can have private schools.
Many of the schools I am sure are just there as a free baby sitting service and for gang member recruitment purposes.

Looks like the state is not in a position to bail them out as it has a 14 billion dollar backlog in it's own bills.
Every aspect of that state is in deep trouble. I used to practice in Illinois and my former partner said the state owes his group $60 million and the hospital $110 million. That is just one hospital in one city!
He said they are looking to "sell" the debt to investment bankers in an attempt to recoup some money. What bankers in their right mind would purchase that debt??

Chicago needs to fix it's own problems! Starting with, inner city folks need to stop having kids out of wedlock, with daddy running off, never to be seen again, and the taxpayers footing the bill for a welfare life. Second, some good finance courses for its citizens would be helpful.
