One of the long term goals of the Christian right is to make homosexuality a crime again.
Where did you get that idea from? Yes, there are a few extremist groups that are pushing for that, but to say that it's a goal of the Christian right is preposterous. Too much generalizing with no links to support your opinion. Thread fail.
I believe homosexuality is sinful, but would never support such a law. People should have the right to engage in activities that they want as long as it is not harming other people. However, if we are going to do away with moral law, at least be consistent. That means legalizing other current moral crimes like prostitution or smoking pot. Our prison population is overflowing as it is.
I am definitely for legalizing smoking pot. Prostitution I am a bit iffy on and can see arguments both ways, but I generally lean against it.

Bryan Fischer, President of the Family Research Council and a hugely influential figure within evangelical circles said the following.
"Both of the cases that went to the United States Supreme Court that dealt with the issue of whether states should criminalize sodomy, and of course they still ought to be able to do it, every state in the union criminalized sodomy until 1962 and then forty nine states until 1972, then they began to fall like dominoes. But by the time of the founding until the late 20th Century, homosexual activity was a felony offense in the United States of America, there is no reason why it cannot be a criminal offense once again, absolutely none."
With this in mind, it makes sense out of otherwise nonsensical opposition to certain aspects of LGBT equality, like employment and housing protections. Their ultimate goal is to return homosexuality to being a punishable offense.
Regardless of your moral views on homosexuality, do you think it should be legal or should it be a criminal offense?
Why pick on Christians? Muslim want to do the same thing.

That is a lie. Show me where in the GOP platform that any statement of that sort exists. You can't because you know it is a lie.
In a truly free nation, the citizens of that nation would not criminalize anything unless it inhibited the liberty and freedom of others. Consenting adults would be free to choose to do as they wish. At the same time, consenting adults would also be free to choose NOT to do as they wish (including all the BS social programs the progressives have jammed down our throats).
Beyond that, a true Christian will not back down from his/her beliefs on what is good and what is sin, but neither would they force their beliefs on others. A cornerstone to Christianity is the idea of CHOOSING good or evil. It's kind of hard to choose something when it is forced in the first place.
This topic is irrelevant and down right dumb. I guess there are still a handful of evangelicals that have nothing better to do than to stick their noses into what 2 adults do in bed together. Of course these are the same people that think their specific brand of Christianity is the only one that matters. Really sad for them.
