Oh wait, never mind.
Changing magazines is not the same a reloading.

Most likely, the shooter was using high capacity magazines.

I can swap out magazines on an AR in about three seconds and be firing again. Ten round capacity magazines wouldn't slow down a shooter that much.

What will slow down my shooting is a misfeed, which is more common on high capacity magazines, or a fouled ejection which usually comes from a dirty weapon and/or cheap ammo.

That's my conclusion.

That's what it sounds like to me, too...some kind of raging nutter.

Early on, Rand Paul made clear it was Republican leadership who had been shot. He also said had not leadership been present, Capital Police would not have been present and it would have been a massacre.

OP, anyone crazy enough to take an assault type rifle to a ball field to shoot fish in a barrel so to speak is too mentally ill to be a real democrat OR a republican. Don't try to spin this any other way.

My husband and I just discussed the *same* thing. It's possible that he showed up ready to kill regardless of whom was on the field. Speculation at this point is pretty pointless.

I'm a little jarred by the eyewitness account of Scalise dragging himself 50 feet through the dirt, leaving a trail of blood. This is just shocking.

If he was going to shoot them anyways, there was no need to stop and ask. He was clearly targeting Republicans and wanted to make sure he had the right target.

It does sound like it was an attack on republicans.
No doubt the shooter was some deranged individual that is angry at Trump or the Gov. in general.

I hope we learn what his motive was be it isis, islam or a Trump hater.

I live right next door in Arlington and know where that park is at. Crazy. These people are becoming so crazy.

I knew things like this would happen. The media needs to cut it out with all of the stupid crazed hatred. It just takes one crazy gunman to ruin it for everyone.
