That's alright, still Mayberry here
The funny thing is those in Nowheresville USA favor policies that will supposedly help out the cities vulnerable to attack, who don't want them. All of the states affected by 9/11 voted against Bush/Cheney in 2004.

That is not a generally accepted definition. Suburbs are part of urban America. They are simply less dense parts of the city. 80 percent of the population is urban/suburban. 20 percent is rural/small town. Suburbs are part of the developed continuum emanating out of urban centers. Small towns (generally less than say 5,000 or 10,000 people are separated from urban/suburban areas by significant mostly empty spaces (farms, forest, plains etc). Rural is those mostly empty spaces.

Explain this. Black Americans are mainly Christian. Trump did not win among Black Americans. Trump did not win among Hispanics, who are mainly Christian as well. Two groups that are predominantly Christian, and Trump(as well as Republicans from previous times) have not done well with said groups.

I had a strong feeling Hillary was going to lose months before the election. All of that was based on experiences at VA hospitals and with some locals in the Pittsburgh regional area. In no instance did I initiate the topic.

In every conversation people tried to convince me she was crooked. That really came through from vets that had security clearances while serving.

Even a Democrat operative was extremely negative on Hillary's chance in the summer when I noticed he was reading newspaper articles from a clipping service.

In the end Hillary didn't get the votes out of Allegheny County she needed to carry Pennsylvania. The rest is history.
Columbus, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, etc., all the same story. Yeah she got a lot of votes in certain districts, but outside of that, whole different story. That's where the difference was.

Districts and counties don't matter, only the state total.

Hillary = Loooooosssseerrrrrrr.

Sometimes there comes a time when you have to admit you're a loser. I love Lebron and the Cavaliers but the fact is, they're losers. If you asked Lebron himself he would tell you they're losers.

Say it with me now everyone.

Hillary is a llooooooossserrrr.

Too bad we are learning now that Trump is far more corrupt and crooked than Hillary will ever be.

Why would any state affected by 9-11 vote for the idiots who were asleep at the wheel during 9-11? Would that make any sense?

Bush's negligence led to the murder of 3,000 Americans on 9-11. He didn't cause the terror, but his ineptness allowed it. New Yorkers and New Jerseyans would be crazy to vote for Bush under the circumstances.

And since when did rural areas support places like NYC? The rural hicks were the ones who put Trump in office. Trump is a catastrophe for urban America.

My point is they base their votes on sentiment against terrorism (which doesn't affect where they live) and immigration (which largely doesn't affect them either). Those who come in direct contact with those issues tend to not vote conservative, as a majority.

I think there's one thing this election proved which is that rural voters do matter, even to the democrats and it's worth the democrats time to at least try to connect with rural voters. This is something I didn't see much of throughout the election.

Off course making Hillary the candidate instead of Bernie Sandrs was a bigger mistake.

Sanders wouldn't have won either. He would have been painted as a "commie socialist" and probably done worse than Hillary. Mainstream Dems didn't really like Sanders.

Unfortunately this election was full on Stupid for both parties, with two bad candidates, but the Republicans really had the idiocy going, nominating a guy who doesn't hold a single Republican principle, and who was a Democrat until recently. They couldn't have done worse nominating Daffy Duck.
