Is this what Bernie Sanders meant by "free college?"
Sanders, wife Jane, hire lawyers amid FBI probe on loan application: report
Sen. Bernie Sanders and his wife have hired defense attorneys amid an FBI probe into a loan the senator’s wife procured for Burlington College while she was school president, according to news reports.
Sanders, a Vermont Independent, and wife Jane hired a legal team in connection to a 2010 loan application Jane Sanders purportedly filed so the school could borrow $10 million to purchase 33 acres of land, as reported first by Politico.
The hiring of the attorneys was confirmed to CBS News by Jeff Weaver, the campaign manager for Sanders in his bid to win the Democratic Party nomination in the 2016 presidential race.
Jane Sanders purportedly distorted school donor levels in the loan application she filed to People’s United Bank, according to the January 2016 complaint. The liberal arts college closed that same year.
Politico also reports that federal prosecutors could be looking into allegations that Sen. Sanders' office tried inappropriately to get the bank to approve the loan.
Sanders supporter Rich Cassidy has reportedly been hired to represent the senator, and Washington defense attorney Larry Robbins has reportedly been retained for his wife. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017...on-report.html
The Daily Caller News Foundation first broke the news of the allegations against Jane Sanders in March 2015. The Department of Justice and the FBI will not confirm the existence of an investigation, but recent interviews conducted by officials from the FBI and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), independently confirmed to TheDCNF, suggest an investigation is ongoing.
The federal probe is allegedly weighing on Sen. Sanders’ decision whether or not to run for president in 2020.
The investigation was started more than a year ago under President Obama, his Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and his United States Attorney, all of whom are Democrats,” Toensing told Politico Thursday.
I thought it was strange how Bernie was cited for violations of the campaign finance regulations, then refused to file financial disclaimers & then bowed out of the race after about $10 million is nebulous donations from the DC area. As soon as he got that money, he dropped out, bought his 3rd luxury home & did a complete 180', endorsing Hillary Clinton, who by that time had been clearly exposed rigging the primary against him. Bernie sold out. It's that simple.
Amazing that so many people fell for his pipe-dreams.
He's a got his rah-rah-rah, "I'm here for the little guy" shtick while shaking his finger from the podium. But, his whole 'message' is basically robbing Peter to pay Paul while creating a nation of dumbed-down dependents. Good grief!

It is amazing they fell for it and also thought a society could function of his ideas.
I hope the pipe dreamers have it figured out by the next presidential election.
