With many First Ladies across several centuries, how do you think Melania will be viewed in the history of First Ladies? I know not even a year has passed since she became First Lady, so the jury is still out. This is more of a forward looking question.

We only have history books (oh wait, I'm old - let's make that modern and say Google) to decide amongst all of the First Ladies ever. Since 1960 when I was born, based on many factors from simple "stage presence" to their involvement with being a representative for our country and active across many fronts, I think we've had several decent ones despite of their POTUS husbands (good or bad). Kennedy, Obama, Reagan - all I feel were decent in their "roles".

In my opinion, because of Donald Trump I don't believe Melania stands a chance of being thought of as anything but a trophy First Lady for Donald, even if she is capable of being something really good.

Her pet project: eliminate bullying on the internet. In light of her husband's tweets, she's got some work cut out for herself.

History will be written when it is history.

She has a fine chance of being as great as any in the past. Unlike some in the recent past she has been proud to be an America everyday since becoming one.

After years of being an American there is no example of her making any statement to the effect; for the first time I feel proud to be an American.

Absolutely true. But thus far she always seems to be in the shadows of Donald, unlike others as recent as Michelle Obama who seemed to be separate from Barrack and doing so much on her own.

Who knows how she'll be remembered. Maybe if she actually DOES something, she'll be remembered fondly. As it is, right now she hasn't done anything other than wear nice clothing.

History of first ladies...it's a little early for that, don't you think? She's a strong, smart woman, she and Donald Trump complement each other nicely. She'll leave her mark.

I thought I was clear in my O.P. saying the jury is still out. But just like everyone has been judging Donald since Day#1 of his presidency for things he hasn't even done yet, it's only fair to at least inquire as to what people think Melania is and could be. As I stated, I think others have an unfair advantage over Melanie just because of Donald himself. I believe she is repressed more than most others due to Donald, but again, just my opinion.

Barrack wasn't a big personality, so that was pretty easy.

She'll be remembered as the most devoted mother, and the most glamorous.

angry that people dare criticize America??? : sorry but America isn't the perfect little country you want it to be. And to fix any issue, you first have to admit you have a problem! Goodness, you Republicans are so hapless
