Except for the inconvenient fact that kneeling in support of some football players has absolutely nothing to do with disrespecting the nation or pledging allegiance to it.

Do you have any idea how many times this 97-year-old veteran has cited the pledge of allegiance? Probably more times than you can count.

No there isn't. And they didn't take part in the anthem until the military started paying millions of dollars in the 2000s.

I also said, he has the right to voice his opinion, just like the NFL players do.

However, his veteran or hero status has nothing to do with the topic.
Wrong,you don't get to decide.

Forced patriotism is the opposite of patriotism. If you want to live in a place where people are punished for not submitting, move to North Korea.
I have no problem pledging my allegiance to America. I believe you do. I was never forced. It is natural but apparently you have a problem with it.

I think this 97 year old's point is that, "These people have the right to protest."

Then again, other people have the right to find the "kneeing" counterproductive or annoying.

We all have the right to voice our opinion without being called "bigot".

I have no problem with it - I do it if I'm somewhere it is done. I also have no problem with people using their rights to do something else. That's pretty much the fundamental position of our Constitution and the founding of our country - free will.
