When the people who are whining about standing during the national anthem give half as much to natural disaster relief as the NFL players have, then this whole thing might make some sense.

JJ Watt raised nearly 40 million, let me know how much Trump raised.

When people demand it. Go ahead and boycott them; they'll get the message.

Just leave the government voice out of it, because that's a dangerous precedent.

Default NFL players never came out for the NA until ....

... the government started paying the league to display "patriotic " behavior on the field. Prior to 2009 it was customary for players to remain in the locker room until after the anthem. Then the government started a propaganda program involving the NFL.

A few questions:

If one insists that football players should all stand for the anthem, does it follow that any member of the audience who doesn't stand should be evicted from the stadium (or event)?

There's no Federal law requiring people to stand for the anthem. Should there be such a law?

Should a U.S. President (regardless of who it is) tell private companies to fire employees if the President doesn't like the employees' behavior? Or is that up to the private companies to decide?

Name one. And I'll name you a thousand who don't do that... but get insulted and slimed anyway by these slimy no-minds undeservedly.

I ask again: When will millionaire entertainers *stand* for the anthem, out of respect for the 99.9% of police who AREN'T racist?

Don't forget about Roethlisberger and his colorful past of sexual assault. You guys should pick up the book pros and cons. It is a book from the late 90's but it sheds a light on the criminals that play in the NFL and how NFL, college, and even high school teams are all too happy to cover their crimes up.

Progressives taking such an unpopular stance is mind blowing dumb and plays into Trump's hands with the narrative that progressives hate America.
hard luck mate most americans think trump is wrong on this.

Not all Americans may support the players taking a knee, but the vast majority sure as hell respect their RIGHT to take a knee.

What utter horse manure to suggest such a thing! Right up there with the "love it or leave it" mentality which is really no mentality at all.

Simply unbelievable, but of course no doubt we've got this sort of nonsense in the heads of all too many Americans who -- forgive them -- just simply don't know better...

Again, oh HELL no!!!
