Where there is a LOT of smoke, there is probably fire. One has to suspend all sanity to think this particular guy - probably one of the biggest haters in attendance and likely mentally ill on top of it - just "had an accident".
IMHO, he is unlikely to see the outside of a prison for a decade or more. I hope it's longer...because a teen who would abuse their mother in a wheelchair is a danger to society.

We can go round and round on this for and against . Both sides have forgotten about the concept of Free Speech. Everyone forgets that Free speech is about speaking responsibly and actually letting the other sde speak.
It can be said the BLM and Anitfa (cowards with their hoof garb) .The Local and State Democratic Gov. could of did more to protect these Protestors from themselves.
Now we have attack on our History in Boston. I hope the Boston PD and the Governors Office will control and pull the few Protestors who has been escalating the violence.

How can you tell that the driver "accelerated forward" after being hit with a pole? It appears to me that the driver was already accelerating forward during the time his car was hit with a flag pole. I would hit a car also if I witnessed it accelerating toward pedestrians.

I sincerely doubt it. WAY too much evidence to the contrary: The blue-shirted attacker striking his car before he accelerated forward to flee attack, the supposedly "peaceful" counter-ptotesters throwing cement-filled soda cans at and kicking cars in Charlottesville streets just for being there, causing that one close call at another Charlottesville intersection where 3 to 4 cars barely missed slamming into each in a panicked attempt to flee the violence-crazed mob, etc., etc.
Two separate incidents and does not relate to the driver of the car who killed and injured.
It shows the mentality and actions/behavior of the violence-crazed lefty mobs and why the driver would fear for his life after his car was physically attacked.

The Last 2 post is not relative. The Problem is the Left is trying to take this incident to the next level. The real issue is we have extremist on BOTH SIDES trying to jam their Political Ideology on the rest of the country.
We need to follow the rule of law and as a country respect other ideas even if it is opposite of yours.
If this escalates someone will make this a armed with guns issues. One side escalates the issue this all goes south real quick!

Then the acceleration occurs. The audio of the video has the strike to the car then the rev of the engine.
The timeline is: brake for crowd in street -> strike from the rear by the counter-protester in the blue shirt who had been in front of the car when it slowed for the crowd -> forward acceleration to flee attack.
Note that there is enough time for the attacker to get out of the way and step behind the vehicle to strike it. Contraindicates high rate of speed into stopped cars until AFTER his car was struck from behind. He was fleeing attack.
There's no way to prosecute this driver. VERY reasonable doubt given the video and still frame evidence.
