I utterly agree, of course, that this young man is 'presumed innocent', and it is possible that there were circumstances that caused him to flee in panic.
I admit, the photo does not appear to show much in the way of damage to the rear of the car, although I see some normal wear along the bumper, perhaps:
Now, perhaps the "DA saw it", but that did not prevent the district attorney from filing various charges: one count of second-degree murder, several counts involving malicious wounding, as well as a charge of hit and run. Of course, the DA will be able to add, or detract, from the charges as evidence is obtained.
From a diagram I saw of the street, this young man not only passed by one free intersection (Main street), but he, perhaps, saw the crowd of people ahead of him. One does wonder why he did not turn on Main, or apply his brakes. I am still surprised that more were not injured when he rapidly backed up and fled the scene.
you can't rationalize the murderous aims that were within this person, they set out to do what they did, and did not want to get caught afterwards...
Nor could one credibly argue that beating up the 30 U-VA students was peaceful.
I will need video evidence of those 30 students attacking hundreds of Klansmen with torches before I'm willing to admit they are both at fault for this unfortunate confrontation.
The 30 people started it Friday night per the information printed by the trustable MSM
A group of about 30 U-Va. students — students of color and white students — had locked arms around the base of the statue to face down the hundreds of torchbearers....Within moments, there was chaos. Shoves. Punches. Both groups sprayed chemical irritants.
I guess the 30 people were there to "protect" the statue.
We saw already how one person here posted the slow motion of the car ramming the protesters last week end and made it look like a person swung a bat as the car moved through the street. The reality -- the car was gunning down the street, full speed, with intent to ram the protesters. Different story.
Then we saw the picture of the black man with the spray can throwing fire. The initial story was the guy was attacking the poor Neo Nazis. Reality -- the Nazi group approached this man and a few unarmed protesters and started taunting and throwing things at them -- including the spray paint can and the gentleman was protecting himself and that poor old man to the right of him in the picture.
I know many here hate Snopes...again ignore the source......but look at what is presented.

"They"? You realize there was only one person driving that car right? Oh wait, maybe he had a split or multiple personality disorder and three of him were driving that car...
Nothing in that article supports your false claim.
