Yes we do know what the special counsel investigation is for. It's for investigating someone of committing a crime, based on evidence of the crime they are suspected of committing.
The problem you fools have, is you have no freaking crime, and no evidence linking that crime to Trump or his associates.
If you start a murder investigation, you start with a dead body of a murdered victim. You have no dead body, no murder victim, much less any evidence suggesting that trump is guilty of the murder.
All you have is your hatred for Trump, combined with your belief that you think Trump might be capable of some kind of treasonous collusion with Russians to win the election.
We cannot start a federal independent counsel investigation, armed only with an assumption that we think Trump might have done something, and then have the counsel run amok, looking for evidence of him doing something, anything.
Honestly, we don't know what's going on in the investigation because it's none of our business until they come to a conclusion. This is just like Watergate except our techniques have become more sophisticated since then. Do you really think there would be this huge investigation without cause.
Sorry but we already know for a fact that Trump, his son, his son in law and others LIED about meetings. We know that Trump himself said that he fired the FBI director to try to stop the investigation. There is evidence already, except for those too willfully blind and pig headed to see it. And of course, we have no idea what actual CONFIDENTIAL information is known to the SC, since it's, you know, confidential. And unlike the Trump administration that leaks like a sieve, Mueller runs a tight ship and hires "the best people" - the kind who can keep their mouths shut.

As a non trump supporter I am exhausted at the news focusing on every blunder trump makes. None of his supporters give a damn and it is just creating more division. Just concentrate on the news already.
I'd like them to quietly investigate all this stuff behind the scenes, and update everyone when there's any news.
If he does something, report it without comment. He's looking at the sun without glasses during an eclipse? Roll the video and let it speak for itself.
People who love him don't give a damn and people who don't can see that he's not wearing any glasses and it'll just reinforce their opinion that he sucks anyway.
The Russia thing did not go away. Just because they're not yammering about it 24/7 doesn't mean the investigators FORGOT.
