There are thousands and thousands of people downstream of two old earthen dam.
I really hope it holds.
I am trying to think of an analogy.
How is this:
Like Russian Roulette, people are forced to pull the trigger. If they survive a blank gets taken out of the gun and they must pull the trigger again.
Each blank taken out represents the fact the old dams are getting older, they continue to sink, the storms get larger, and more and more developments means more water going to the dam.

If Barkers or Addicts fail I agree.
Have more than 75,000 single story homes flooded or two story homes flooded up to the second floor?
I just found this in the news.
Estimated 30000 to 40000 homes destroyed in Houston area

The way you do this is go around and decide who is most at risk. Pick the top 200-300,000
If they have a car they get a sticker with a code.
If they don't have a car they get placed on a list to pickup by buses.
For a four hour window. Only these cars and buses are allowed on outbound roads.
........
Next you identify the next 400,000 at greatest risk and do the same.
They have a 6 hour window to be on the road.
I am sorry I don't seem like so many who remind me of turkeys in a thunderstorm who look up and drown.
I believe in saving people.
And yes if you do an evaluation too quickly and too large you end up killing people because you failed to plan and allowed people in no danger whatsoever to clog the highways

I would nominate you as director of FEMA in a nanosecond.
But first you will have to serve a term as dictator, chief of police, or General in charge of the Texas National Guard.
You do realize this is Texas, and People Carry Guns?
We ladies and gents watching the real America... They let Harv wash away the politics dissension and divisions,,, may they never come up from the sewer again .
A black MMA fighter has been helping victims of Harvey for days. Even the dreaded white folks. Lots of pics and videos of him helping anyone and everyone in the article.
To normal folks this is a man of integrity, respect, and a hero.
To the Left he'll be labeled an Uncle Tom or worse.
Love it. Neighbors helping neighbors. Humanity, not partisan politics. Also, people in the South understand what people int he North don't. The Confederate flag is not a symbol of oppression, it's a symbol of Southern pride.

That's actually how America SHOULD work... the black man wasn't concerned about the flag and the white man is thankful for the help... the liberals want to tear it apart because they HAVE to care when nobody really does... the left likes to sow chaos and create fires otherwise nobody would care about their existence... they are on the way to extinction, that line of backstabbing, nepotism thinking doesn't help anybody, the more people figure it out, the less the liberals remain relevant...
