That's why we cancelled a trip for pleasure to Dallas this weekend. Frees up hotel rooms and keeps us off the roads needing gasoline. Good luck there!!
I can just imagine if they had tried to evacuate 2million people like they tried back in 2005 before Rita.
OP, why is this even something to talk about? It shows how pathetic this all is. Do we need a photo-op of all the white people helping blacks too? For Gods sake!
Good people, help people no matter what race, etc.... Stop the nonsense OP.
The reason for posting wasn't to point out people of different races helping each other. It was to point at the media for inflating and exaggerating things that aren't really issues to most people. Very few people I know give a crap about that flag. The media would have you believe it's the worst thing to every happen in this country. Except maybe for a statue of Robert E. Lee being erected.
Three houses in our PA town fly the confederate flag. No one cares; at least not enough to make a public ruckus about it. Not the whites or the blacks. One of the families we're friendly with is an inter-racial couple. I asked the dad about it when this first stated becoming a wide-spread media blitz. After he finished looking at me like I was crazy for even asking him if the flag bothered him, he said, "Who gives a F..." (Then looked around to make sure his kids didn't hear him curse, lol.) Sure, some people do care, but when you see and hear real stories from average people, you realize it's nowhere near as important as the media wants you to believe. It's just something they use to try and drive the wedge deeper.
Funny how the MSM goes off on Joel Ostean for not opening his flooded church. But now days later they congratulate the Muslim community for doing exactly the same thing.
Double standard indeed.
I can't imagine why ANY critically thinking adult still watches CNN.
Osteen didn't open his church until he was pressured to do so.
The mosques have been open since the storm hit.

People here are just saying this black guy is awesome. That's all. In a desperate situation like this, not many people would care so much about a flag. we are all just fellow human beings. That is all.

People don't care about the statues/flags as much as the media/Left would like and it bothers them.
As you said, its about the degree. I dont know anyone who would let another die over it. So the premise of this thread is based on your own misunderstanding of the degree.
I don't see where the lack of showers is a defense to not opening anyway. The furniture store that opened up to refugees from the storm most likely didn't have showers either, it simply provided a dry place for people to rest out of the flood waters. I imagine that even if people had to rest on two folding chairs in Osteen's megachurch, it would have been a better alternative than staying outside in the rain and the flood.
We all know the showers excuse was pure BS. Osteen simply didn't want to open up his $$$$$$ megachurch to the hoi polloi. He thought that people would buy his excuses and move on, when they didn't he was forced to backtrack and take people in.
See Donny, even Pence can be decent! Watch your vice-president to see how it's done!
