“That’s kind of crazy, you know? ‘Oh, hey, your dad got deported. You’ll probably never see him again. That’s just difficult to think about stuff like that happening,” Carrender said.
ABC 36 spoke to someone who says he is connected to some of the businesses. He says they are closed because the raid was so traumatizing. In fact, he says several members of the Hispanic community are staying inside. He worries about its impact on the community, as do some customers.

I understand Illegal Immigration needs to be addressed, but this is just sad.
There is a community in shock here.

"Right now they're just all in scooped up in one van and you don't know where anybody is at. It's scary. You don't know where your family members are at," she said. "You're missing family, you're missing friends, they shut your work down, you don't have a job. What have they done wrong? They're here working."
Nicholasville Police say they were not notified of the raid.
Our attempts to reach U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for comment have been unsuccessful so far.
"It's just heartbreaking not knowing whats going to come of it all. It's a mess. I just feel for everyone involved," said Lexington resident Adam Pearsos.

Low hanging fruit, big headlines, no measurable result (aside from a loss of income/jobs to the employer and employees). I wonder how much this exercise in propaganda cost the taxpayer?

I've seen pot busts that had to run into the 100's of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money.

Now...in KY, there is is no place to eat for the opiate addict who needs a bit of nourishment. Sad.

And you were saddened your dope supply was impacted.
See how fun it is to stereotype?

The fact is that if you are breaking the law, you leave yourself vulnerable to circumstances such as this.

Sad the family is gone... but there was a risk taken. With the randomness of how the law is applied, you just never know when your number will be called.

Best option... don't break the law. You want to keep your family together... don't break the law.

Everyone breaks the law, time to examine why there are so many.

Not to worry, they will be back over the border in a blink of the eye.

Poor business practices eventually damage the business.

Breaking the law is intended to cause worry, otherwise why have the law???

Ask yourself who makes the laws and address it with them...... hint, the legislative branch of government..... All the rage to bypass laws you don't like defeats the process of law and the mechanism to change laws, the basis on which our country was founded.

Any background info on those snagged?

"bad business practices", like hiring people who are willing to work? Were those illegals keeping you from getting a job busing tables and drying off cars?

So, groups of criminals being arrested is "sad"? Just what is so sad about it? Sounds like a number of jobs are now available to American citizens and a drain on our taxpayers has been reduced just a bit. Nice to see ICE doing it's job.

Those restaurants shouldn't have hired the illegals to begin with. The illegals know the risk and they are willing to take it. Sometimes, they get caught. Then they turn around and whine about being deport and separating families when they shouldn't be here to begin with.
Kentucky is in a situation where it's still not saturated with illegals like CA is. They should think long and hard before considering supporting the illegal alien problem or solving it. Other than cheap 21st century slave labor for business, there's no benefit to encouraging illegal immigration. A business including restaurants that can't make a profit without hiring people illegally needs to shut down and go out of business. Yes, it's really that simple. CA has the highest poverty rate of any state and it's mainly due to the millions of illegals here.
Don't let KY turn into another illegal alien saturated state. You won't like it. Trust me.
