Trump led a group of owners to convince the USFL to switch to the fall and compete directly with the NFL in the hopes the NFL would buy them out. Trump and the league sued the NFL and while he won in court he was only awarded $1 in damages. Not long after the USFL failed and Trump lost money.

Is Trump's anti-NFL position only due to saluting the flag or is it because he holds a business grudge against the NFL?
Neither. What we have is just two sides of the same coin. Both whine and don't appreciate the good they've received. Ungrateful is the new tyranny.

Easy.

1. Headlines about Trump calling football players "sons of *******" takes away headlines about Mueller turning up the heat on his Russia investigation

2. Any time Trump talks badly about black men, his most loyal supporters cheer and clap. And in a rally to support the GOP candidate in a state like Alabama, Trump is going to get a TON of applause for talking badly about black men protesting.

Maybe because seeing them on their knees is a disrespect to our country in my eyes. Perhaps if they sacrificed their lives for the freedom we now enjoy, they would feel differently. I am so tired about people complaining about this country. Why don't they leave. Those Clinton suppprters who said they would leave the country are still here. The consequences they would have in some other countries would be severe if they did what they do here.

My Italian immigrant ancestors went through a lot of discrimination way back when they immigrated here. They adjusted to make it work, worked very hard without any support, loved this country and felt so blessed to become citizens. They never looked back and felt privileged to be a part of this great country.

Sometimes it seems like he's more intent on serving the interests of Russia than the United States. On Twitter someone noted that Trump is more critical of Colin Kaepernick than he is of Vladimir Putin.

I certainly see more of a love for this country from President Trump than all of those "kneelers" combined. I wish Obama stood up for our county more while he was in office. We never felt first that is for sure.

I'm not a huge football fan, but the hard cold facts are that Trump could stay out of the White House for a month and it would not matter.

But if every football player stayed home one Sunday, there would be an economic meltdown.

Starting a fight with sports stars and Roger Goodell is rather idiotic. But I did predict that when Trump's polls go up as they did after the hurricanes, Trump will find a way to bring them down again with a stupid twitter war.

"...NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fired back at President Trump on Saturday for encouraging league owners to remove players who take a knee during the national anthem, saying Trump’s “divisive comments” show “an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL....”
