No doubt, the guard was initially a person of interest.
Maybe he was not in a position to report the situation. Maybe he had not been dispatched to the floor and was napping in an unoccupied guest room.
Maybe he did report it and no one called it in. The engineer who entered 32 certainly had no idea what he was walking into. We know he communicated the situation.
How much time lapsed between the first shot into the hallway and the engineer's arrival on the floor ? How much time el
Send between the engineer coming under fire and when he called it in? Seconds? Minutes?
Maybe the guard disputed the timeline or maybe it was in his best interests to go with the flow.
MGM is casting doubt on the revised timeline.
Reportedly there are no cameras in the hallways leading to guest rooms.
There are cameras at the elevators. Maybe not the hallways, but for sure the elevator lobbies.
I'm assuming "whomever" used a freight elevator to lug up all that firepower. Likely with the help of a certain security guard. And now we know he didn't even check in when they (formerly) said he did? Interesting.
I saw an interview with the "engineer", Stephen Schuck, he was on a floor above the 32nd when he got the stuck door call. By all appearances, he's going to be a pretty creditable witness, he seemed like a stand up guy. The media's focus on the worker shot in the leg, Jesus Campos?, probably is confusing people.
Clark Cty revised the timeline on Tuesday.
MGM attempted to cast doubt on the revised timeline on Tuesday.
The engineer was first interviewed on the Today Show Wednesday morning.
Prior to this I am not aware there was a public disclosure of 2 hotel employees on the 32nd floor while the shooter put 200 rounds through his door into the hallway. Other than the security guard, who would media focus on?
It's an active investigation. The public is not entitled to real time updates of every rabbit hole.
Time.ines change as new information becomes available.
Clark Cty LE is under tremendous pressure to determine a motive Thus far they have nothing.
MGM and their insurers seek to defend themselves. No different than LE.
Where's the evidence that he "lost millions"? Seems to me he was pretty successful with money (having made millions in real estate, not to mention however much he subsequently made gambling). Where's the evidence proving ANY of this? It's amazing to me that everyone just parrots what they've been told by the TV with not the slightest skepticism or critical thought applied. Amazing -- and not a little scary!

It's not unusual for hotel staff to use freight elevators to transport exhibitor's displays and supplies to their room. I worked trade shows for a while and the convention centers don't usually stay open 24/7 so if you arrive late you have to put all the crap in your room until the convention center opens. Honestly you are wasting your time trying to spin a conspiracy out of that little factoid.

There is an unconfirmed report a bellhop used a freight elevator to transport stuff to the shooter's suite.
Nothing unusual about this. Las Vegas hosts a huge number of conventions/ trade shows. Exhibitors often arrive early for R&R They need a place to store their crap. That place often is their guest room.
Places like Las Vegas attract visitors who stay for weeks / months at a time. People bring a lot of crap with them.
Big hotels avoud clogging up guest elevators with luggage trolleys and instead use freight elevators to do so.
Hotels do not scan or search guest luggage
Not at all unusual for guests to decline housekeeping, especially if they have valuable goods in their rooms.
What might be considered unusual in some places, is SOP in Las Vegas and Orlando.
Thinking the security guard has been put through the wringer in terms of his background and contacts.
I am currently fond of the theory the guard was napping in an unoccupied guest room ( it happens) and found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. His union wasted no time announcing he was a hero. The engineer attributes his survival to the security guard.
Plus, unless they post it no firearms it's not unusual to haul guns up to your room. Better than leaving them in your truck.
unless your name is OJ of course
