However, owning a gun is much easier than a vehicle. You can carry 20 magazines with you in a backpack, or heck take the gun apart and put it in a backpack and walk with it, nobody would ever notice.

There's too much ease in getting access to a gun since everything is so readily available.
It's easier to rent a car/truck than get a gun. And that's exactly what terrorists have done plenty of times.

A responsible news agency would not be repeating unconfirmed information over and over again for this very reason. But then, we're not talking about a responsible news agency.

BS...the left used anonymous sources for days (Yes CNN)...no difference....

Chances are a disabled smoke detector would set off an alert sooner than an actual smoke detection.

Guns like the ones used in this massacre are already illegal. Didn't stop the attack. Now what?

Any attempt to disable a smoke detector in a hotel automatically sends a signal to the front desk.

Which is precisely why I said "something to prevent the smoke detector from going off" instead of disable it.

You noticed that the first thing they put up was "without providing evidence".

Yup, and there are ways to limit or get rid of smoke that dont require disabling it.
