A few hours after Milne spoke, he got some confirmation. A financial report that Trump’s company filed with the British government shows he has lost millions of dollars at the resort, called the Trump International Golf Links, as well as at a second one on the other side of Scotland overlooking the Irish Sea.

Trump Loses Millions At Scottish Resorts For Third Year In A Row – Talking Points Memo

Trump is making money off of taxpayers by charging the Secret Service to access his properties ($65K to use his elevators in one month) but he'll hand his children the legacy of the Trump name.
You don't know golfers very well. They will play at a nice course no matter whose name is on the sign out front.

Question Trump's Scottish Golf Course Losing Millions Third Year in a Row

I have to plead ignorance here, so please excuse what might be obvious to others:

Does tRump actually own this golf course or is this just another licensing deal where someone else owns it and pays royalties for the trump name?

Wonder how many Scots have been stiffed out of their paychecks ?
From what I can tell, Trump's business model involves laundering Russian money through overpriced real estate surrounding money-losing golf courses.

If the golf courses go belly up and folks can't sell their overpriced condos, wonder if the Russians will fool around with lawsuits or take more direct action.

Some will. Some won't.

Lobbyists, of course, will line up. But others seem to be more reluctant.

At Trump’s golf club in Rancho Palos Verdes, there is a driving range on a cliff, with a stunning view of the blue Pacific and room for 24 golfers.

"But, on a recent afternoon, there was only one. And he was playing with a guilty conscience."

“I feel like I’m cheating on my wife,” said Richard Sullivan, a 59-year-old doctor.:

"Sullivan had stopped playing full $300 rounds of golf here but sneaked back to the range.

He often found it empty. “It’s just dead all the time,” Sullivan said.

Is business hurting at Trump's California golf club because of the name?

Shouldn't you be posting in the World Forums being from the former state of California. Trump's not your president. Why worry about ours?

The problem is that apparently Trump does not know how to "deal" with the fact the he won the election. He still hasn't figured out how to be the President of the United States. And he is showing no glimmer of hope that he is proceeding along the learning curve.

Golf is declining. If Trump was smart, he'd sell all his golf courses asap. It's a dying business, similar to coal.

These are dark days for the sport of golf. Both the number of people playing the game and sales of golf-related merchandise are in freefall, while courses everywhere, even in golf-loving and retiree-packed Florida, are closing at record rates.
