Up here.. I could NOT afford the premiums to get healthcare.. but as our Taxes that actually make sure those who benefit in the upper "Tax range" have to kick in "SURCHARGE" annually since throughout the year got total coverages at low costs! Yes our daily taxes do cost a lot.. BUT compared to $10-20 grand a year in HC premiums is ridiculous..never mind deductibles!! It's called sharing costs amongst the TOTALITY of the Citizenry.. Those less affluent aren't held HOSTAGE like what's going to happen to you all! Free market and allowing Insurance Companies to PROFIT of misery of Insurance policy holders is simply Gouging and taking advantage of those who happen to be born with health issues or have some sort of accident!!

I know of NO OTHER Democratic Country that expects their citizens to cough up 10's of thousands of dollars to get Insurance for anything???? especially something like unknown that catastrophe could be around the corner or never???

Shame on USA for denying their Citizen's adequate coverages for HC!! Insurance Companies should NEVER ever have the POWER to DENY HC services (yet Trumper's suggest.. keep Government out of decisions for my HC??? But taxpayers ( Insurance Bailout)will end up PAYING!! while most paying premiums that the holders have zero knowledge that their HC is going to be denied when they need them!! ... Then what happens?? Yes Taxpayers give deductions to Hospitals.. Patients use expensive accesses (ER's/Hospitalizations) .. YET Trumper's somehow thinks it's wonderful.. SMH

But but Trump; MAGA, um " America is the greatest nation on Earth"? How about "socialism is evil" why? Because MAGA.
Idk I guess those of us who actually earned our way are more empathetic to those struggling. You can't expect trust funders or those born with silver spoons in their ears to understand the concept of truly earning your way

I'm not getting a subsidy but many people are and they need help. Not that Trump cares about them. I'm sure pre-existing conditions will be able to be excluded soon and Trump can pound his chest proudly as he declares a death sentence for millions.

The run up to the 2018 elections start after the holidays. Should make for an interesting year.

LOL, it's already dying. Oh and please, come up with something original. If I wanted to watch MSNBC or CNN I'd turn it on. Stop being a parrot.

I'm sorry, did people who voted for Trump not hear him say he was going to repeal Obamacare? Is this too hard for you to understand...

Note: Insurance companies were abandoning Obamacare in droves even before Trump took office. The reason they are leaving is because they are finding it impossible to make money. That held true before Trump took office and is certainly true today.

No, they don't. They don't have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

If it was "already dying" Trump wouldn't need to take all the steps he's taking to try to kill it. Another way he could make it cheaper is to take away pre-existing conditions. Let's only insure healthy people and tell the rest to go die. In fact, let's get rid of Medicare, those people only pay a third of what they receive. Why should one age group get to live while the rest and told to die if they can't get coverage?

At least the 2018 election season will give the country a chance to vote their opinion, especially in the House.

They will increase rates dramatically now that Trump is ending the payment to help people. Trump said he was going to give them "great health care and the government is going to pay for it". That's not what is happening here. At all. Trump lied. Trump is now going to take health care away from millions.

The individual insurance market was completely broken forever. Anything at reasonable cost covered nothing. So try again.
Depends on what you consider reasonable, and I had a policy that was better than my current ACA policy

I'm an individual market policyholder, both pre and post ACA.

My last policy before the ACA mandates kicked in I was paying $160 per month with a $2700 deductible and no lifetime cap.

Now I'm paying about $450 ($455 or $458 I think) per month for a Bronze plan.

Donald Dump loves signing executive orders because he can't get anything done on legislation, since he's a terrible negotiator.

Default Trump's Broken Promises Regarding Health Coverage

Remember Trump's grand promises about health coverage?

"I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not," Trump said. He added: "The government's gonna pay for it."

Trump is now ending all payments to assist with health care coverage.

Costs will increase for those recipients and next Trump will go after pre-existing conditions which will be a death sentence for millions.
