Do Weinstein's accusers have proof? (Other than the clear wrongdoing in the NY sting tape case found "not prosecutable".) What they have is a community stepping forward with a loud voice.

Predators like Trump and Weinstein count on the powerlessness and trauma of their victims. That occurs in a number of ways:
  • The predator uses his power, his reputation, shame and his attorneys to threaten and quash the victim into silence and sometimes submission.
  • The victim fears the devastating consequences of speaking the truth. Like not being believed, not being able to provide proof, being further and more seriously victimized if they speak out against their powerful abuser.
  • The predators usually victimize in such a way that there are no witnesses or no witnesses who want to get involved. Witnesses who know "something" and actually would want to speak face many of the same threats and negative outcomes that a victim who speaks out would face.
  • Friends/family/others to whom a victim speaks shortly after (like the PEOPLE reporter) can verify the response to what happened but not to the actual assault. Works for the assailant doesn't it?

You talk about Trump's accusers "coming out of the basement". Such an unbiased judgment! If you were sexually assaulted (one of a number who spoke out) whose assailant had faced no real consequences, would it behoove you to speak out if that assaulter was then running for the highest office of the land and his character is consequential for an entire nation? If he were the possible future president and world leader and not just the slimeball who molested you (and others) and got away with it?

With Trump, insult was added to injury when he admitted to and boasted of the things he had actually done on the infamous video. And a significant minority of the country found it amusing and bought Trump's concocted PR maneuver of "locker room" talk to negate and dismiss what he had said he had done and had done. All just fun and games to a rich, entitled, narcissistic guy. Not for those he molested. His sickness and perversion. Not theirs.

He laughingly gloated, "And they let me do it." In his delusional mind. And from his 5% truthful/ 95% untruthful mouth. There may be the occasional woman with a taste for rich, famous and "completely disgusting, lying jerk". But, most of his reported victims were shocked, stunned and distressed/ disturbed/ disgusted. And generally powerless. They didn't put themselves in harm's way. Harm came to them. What usually happens with such victims.

Again, more mind-boggling salt in the wound when Trumpculters jump to defend his every lie and delusion against actual reality.

Bottom line, should Trump be held accountable for his sexual assaults? Yes/No?

Many conservatives on here have defended Trump's groping.
for a long time, most of hollywoods A listers, the DA of new york city, NBC news. the fact is that weinstein has been protected by the left for 30 years, just like they protect roman polanski and others.

much of what trump was accused of was rubbish, though there were somethings he probably did. but without accusers for those things, they fall by the wayside as well.

1. Give me the exact quote of what he admitted to on tape?
2. Should we punish people based on accusation alone?

He's a businessman, but please, do go on pretending this has anything to do with Conservatives. This is all liberal la-la land. The left has always glorified the Hollywood elite. Now it's being revealed just what type of people the left holds up on a pedestal.

I can't wait for more names. All of those disgusting pervs need to fall.

This has nothing to do with the left or politics. It has to do with high powerful men who have taken advantage of women.
