  • So Polanski skipped the country to avoid having to face his rape of a 13 year old.

  • Weinstein got away with serial predation of young starlets until, over time, some of them became well enough known to have a loud voice. Some of that loud voice came via Twitter which wasn't available for the early years of his victimizing young women. You can't act on whispers when no one wants to be the first to step forward and risk their head on the chopping block. Only when someone in the community is empowered, steps forward and shouts and the others have the courage to follow suit do the whispers become a crescendo and a roar. Hooray for those women long deprived of a safe voice! (Including Cosby's victims.)

  • Trump's victims were mostly from disparate "communities". Those that did try to speak were threatened with the full force and power of a billionaire's lawyers. Power to speak the truth and to stand and fight that threat only comes in large numbers and mighty voices which they lacked. They have not had the empowerment of an influential "community" coming together and speaking for them in a roar to allow them to safely stand and speak their truth. They were basically on their own. (As most victims are.)

Does that make Trump less guilty of his actions? No. Are his victims less deserving of having a safe voice and a reckoning for his disturbing behavior toward them? No. Will Trump's cult/defenders/deniers continue to dismiss and minimize his behavior? Yes. Will anyone stand for Trump's victims in the way that those in Weinstein's "community" are standing for those he violated? Highly unlikely. He who has the largest bankroll, the most aggressive lawyers and the most practiced sociopathy often wins. Not fair, not right, shouldn't be, but is.

The Trumps of the world get away with some pretty despicable things and feel no shame for having done them. They project fault onto their victims for calling attention to the victimizer's deeds rather than facing their own sickness and evil doings. Trump's a lifelong pro at it. And now he has the cult to protect him along with his battalion of amoral attorneys.

Sure you didn’t. None of you did. That’s how he won...because none of you Conservative Repubs voted for him.

Seems very hollywood to me.

Woody Allen is East Coast and he is as hollywood as it gets, as is Scorcese.
Half of these Hollywood Celebs that they claim to hate are New York based.

Trump is definitely a Hollywood confection.

NO ONE is defending this behavior.

This is what is wrong with this country, much of it brought on by the use of the internet and social media. People can just assign thoughts and attitudes to others without a shred of evidence to back up what they are saying.

None of the other candidates was a hollywood celebrity, yet you rejected ALL of them

Makes no sense except to the poorly educated
"So once again, if you guys dislike Hollywood so much why nominate a Hollywood celebrity?"

So once AGAIN a claim is made that is a NOT true.

Trump is from NYC and did a TV show FROM NYC NOT Hollywood.

I guess geography isn't your strong suit.

All the little juvenile snippets do NOT get you brownie points, Sorry!

"He inherited his father's business before he became a celebrity"

Context is EVERYTHING.
Trump inherited some money, THEN grew it by hundreds, maybe thousands.

He created a very successful entertainment TV show WHILE STILL running the HUGE other businesses he CREATED.

The left has shown how they hate successful people UNLESS they are liberals themselves.

ONLY from the idiots who ONLY follow Hollywood and NOT the "real" world.

Trump is the epitome of a celebrity, and this is a huge reason why they like him.

They also admire Ronald Reagan, who starred in many Hollywood movies and was the President of the Screenwriters actors union.

Maybe because we're capable of discerning the difference between Hollywood as a whole and individuals within Hollywood?

I know that requires critical thinking, which isn't really in the Left's repertoire of knees jerk, identity politics.......but try to follow along.

Just because Hollywood is largely steeped in left wing , smug self righteousness, doesn't mean that it applies to EVERYONE in Hollywood.

There is no disdain. There's a reality check that's necessary that's taking place now.. call it a PURGE of all vermin. Swamp draining.

Trump is a bragger of grabbing pUH-SEA. but Harvey actually did it.. for 20 + years and a blind eye was turned in favor of MONEY
"Ronald Reagan was president and he was Hollywood."

Emphasis on WAS.

He "quit" being Hollywood when he ran for Governor of Ca. NOT just Hollywood, LONG before he became president.

Do you STILL consider Al Franken a comedian"? Or do you consider him a Senator?
