The only reason the US ranks 37th in health care is to maximize the profits of the insurance, pharmaceutical, and medical businesses. US is number one in medical innovations and 37th in medical care with third world countries ranking higher. This is nothing but shameful greed.

Not everyone is sucking the system dry. I met a girl working at a Dollar General. She told me she was a single mother working three part time jobs earning about $300 a week. She said, "if I was offered medical insurance for a dollar a week I still couldn't afford it."
A 50 year old man I know ran a profitable business for many years and he paid for his health insurance. When the economy took a downturn his business did too forcing him to drop his medical insurance.
When a medical charity, Remote Access Medical, sets up a free clinic in Tennessee people come from distance places like MI and FL to get the help they need. They have dental and medical professionals contributing their time and skill for zero dollars. On a weekend free clinic they will treat in excess of 3000 people.

Only a fool would believe that throwing the poor under the bus to save a few bucks is a good thing. Your children are going to school with their children. If disease spreads among the uninsured do you think your children will be spared?
What about your church congregation or the people you work with? Who do you think is working in restaurants or pouring your coffee?

America needs a single payer system whether it be a form of Medicare or not. Everyone deserves basic health care.

Private charity is the way to fill the void.

Not a Soviet expansion style of government.

Private charity doesn't even come close to filling the void. Its good but its woefully tiny.

It is the sole proper method to fill the void.

The US before things like medicare and social security was a rough place. People lived in shacks children went hungry and were forced to work in sweat shops. I do not want to return to that.

That's hardly a 2017 danger.

Why not? The rich coastal liberals have enough money to adequately fund it. Why aren't they?

That simply isn't true. Private charity is nowhere close to filling the void https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-...d-experts-say/. Your right though the rich should pay more I agree with you on that.
