Kelly was the consumate soldier -- supporting his leader and willing to throw himself on his sword for his superior & cause.

He was disgusted the wife of the fallen soldier was listening to the call on speaker phone as she travelled to pick up her dead husband -- but he listened in on speaker phone in the Oval Office.

Why even say that -- it wasn't necessary.

Kelly as a soldier -- as a parent in the military -- isn't the same as this woman.

I'm sure they didn't tell Kelly's wife that her son knew what he signed up for. That was a talk between two soldiers. Different story.

And yes by dramatically making statements at the press conference they blew it up AGAIN. A simple statement saying Kelly understands that few words can consolte at this time. The PResident was doing his best in the situation. And that's that.

Attacking the congressman in the car is just not necessary.

I guess I did miss it, and I cannot find it. I did see where General Mattis said that "We at the Department of Defense like to know what we are talking about before we talk. We do not have all the accurate information yet. We will release it as rapidly as we get it".

Mattis Is Angered by Press on Niger Coverage, Says 'War Is War'

Now, that covers the Pentagon.

However, it does not address why President Trump did not issue a brief statement, or even a tweet, after the fourth deaths were announced.

After all, there was no question that the four soldiers had been killed. Mr. Trump could have, at least, tweted "Four brave soldiers killed in the line of duty in Niger. We will never forget them or their service".

Instead, it took a reporter, 12 days afterwards, to ask the question to Mr. Trump.

This woman is Florida's "Maxine Waters." She has voted against veterans her entire career, but when the opportunity came up to gain some political advantage from this hero's death, she jumped on it. She doesn't give a hoot about this man or his family. She used the occasion to benefit herself. Now she describes herself as a "rock star." That's what she wanted.

And, by the way; no one treats women with more respect than Donald Trump, and that comes from women who know him and have worked for him for many years.
Insults aside, Trump politicized it when he responded to a question about Niger with a distracting tangent about phone calls to grieving family members and whether General Kelly had gotten a phone call from Obama.

Wilson gave enough hoot about Sgt. Johnson and his family to put time and effort into developing a mentoring program that Sgt. Johnson participated in. His family cared enough about her to ask her to join them on this on this sad journey.

As to no one treating women with more respect than Trump, who did you hear that from? Trump?

He brags about grabbing women by the crotch. Numerous women have confirmed that he tried to force himself on them. I believe there is a lawsuit about this very matter. He took his mistress along on a family ski holiday. Imagine how humiliating that was for his wife. He left his second wife and daughter because he was "bored." He treats his third wife like a paid escort. Not to mention the bizarre public comments about his daughter Ivanka.

Believe me when I tell you that there are others who treat women with more respect than Trump.

Thumbs down trump to Army widow:Your husband knew what he signed up for

Not only did Mrs Johnson lose her husband to a poorly conceived conflict, but then she was dissed by a shameless chickenhawk with the moral authority of a billy goat.

She deserved better.

Trump shames Weinstein in public, but let's not pretend he's not of that ilk.
