What are you going to do about native born American citizens that embrace a culture of hate, violence and subjugation?

Seems like most of these mass shooters are angry , white guys born and raised in the US not imports...(Columbine, Sandy Hook, James Holmes, the Las Vegas shooting, the shooting today in a church.)

Therein lies the rub. Quite the fix you've got yourselves into now.

Your individual freedoms are being stripped away piecemeal with various impartial orgs rating you less free than virtually all of those 1st world nations with gun controls. In respect of maintenance of freedoms you're losing them in spite of all your guns, so they've proven useless for the constitutionally intended purpose.

Every time there's another mass shooting and the gun control debates resume, more guns get sold out of fear of losing the right to own them.

In the knee jerk rush to state the right to protect themselves as being imperative, the abject irony of that is completely ignored or simply not seen as NONE of those other nations feel the NEED to defend themselves from their fellow citizens as it would be deemed something they would not desire to have due to being an unmitigated admission of FAILURE as a nation.

The more firearms there are the more of them that will be in the wrong hands killing people.

America is regressing to a nation where people feel the need to walk around strapped without realizing the oxymoron displayed with calling themselves "free" and "brave".

You cannot confiscate firearms unless you're fix'n to start a civil war.

No choice now but to ride this train right into the station, guns and all .........if you don't get shot during the ride.

let's look at some numbers

2016

number of deaths:

by abortion...........................over 500,000
by tobacco............................over 145,000
by obesity.............................over 140,000
by alcohol.............................over 47,000
by medical error....................over 118,000
by drunk driving....................over 15,000
by illegal drug overdose..........over 11,000
by prescription overdose.........over 7,000

by gun.................................over 5,000

the numbers don't lie....the problem is not guns

Not logic other than the perfect set up for elitists and tyranny to assemble.

Remove the means of defense.

Not going to happen. This millennial isn't a snowflake.

edit to add: you said murder. Knowingly infecting someone with HIV is murder is it not? Do you stand by Jerry brown and think that's good he knocked it from a felony to a misdemeanor?
Yawn.
You are the one who needs to transport back to 1794 when your dream of taking out your tyrannical government might have had some basis in reality.

GOOD thing assault weapons are on the NFA and heavily regulated right?

If we're being honest is 9,616 deaths justifiable grounds to gut the 2nd punish future generations? (Awaiting FBI UCR to publish 16 and 17 #s)

As well as current generations, Because the mentality of being compelled by emotion?

You did say murder. I consider knowingly infecting someone with HIV to be murder...

The threads title is curbing gun violence is it not?
That rules out suicide commissioned by firearms. Unless it's a murder suicide then it's just a punk escaping justice.

That rules out negligent discharges as well. Tis you're responsibility to safely and properly handle a weapon is it not? Where's the violence in a negligent discharge?
"Accidents" = negligent discharge.
Only "accidents" are hot loads, barrels exploding and mechanical failures such as a faulty sear or disconnector.

it doesn't have to affect hippa at all.... you go for a gun... instant 5 minute background check happens...comes back as code 99(or what ever)...."sorry sir, I can not sell this to you at this time, please check with the NSA you got this code (I don't know what the codes mean) you case number is this, please straighten out the issue before you return"

simple yes?
but noooo, liberals have to complain that it would be a violation of hippa

the problem is mental illness, not the amount of guns out there
The NRA lobbied against background checks proposed by senator Manchin a few years back, republican senators have continuously opposed expanding expanding state reporting regarding mental health databases including studies by the CDC. They have argued against including veterans with PTSD.

So here we are again, condolences, sympathy to the families and nothing changes. The solution doesn’t lie in mental health or gun restrictions, the answer is of course more guns.

I love how you don’t even bother substantiating your claim.

In fact you are wrong... bigly. Over 33,000 people were killed by guns in 2016 and the rate
went up to 12 gun homicides per 100,000 people, up from 11 per 100,000 in 2015.

The rate of gun deaths in the United States rose in 2016 to about 12 per 100,000 people, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report released on Friday. That was up from a rate of about 11 for every 100,000 people in 2015, and it reflected the second consecutive year that the mortality rate in that category rose in the United States.

Talk about timely. The article is dated yesterday.

Well yes your numbers lie since there were 33,000 gun deaths in 2016.

Strangely you didn't indicate a source for you statistics, is this your personal research??

Guns, which are designed to kill should be the most tightly regulated product ever invented.

What don't you get?
Look, I'm on your side. He/she was making a completely nonsensical argument comparing car deaths to gun deaths.
