As someone who belongs to neither, I have a suggestion for people to try and return some integrity (if possible...I’m not so sure it can be done) to both parties:

Worry about your own party first.

Now, before the tides of Whataboutism roll in...I say hold them ALL accountable. But a big part of that is stop trying to justify the actions of your party by furiously pointing at the other with what they (sometimes only supposedly) do, thereby trying to explain it away.

If we as a nation keep just deflecting and accepting what we’re getting, it’s not going to change. Why would it? They keep getting voted in. If politicians/parties start getting the message that they need to clean up their act, they just might start to do it more.

You aren’t going to vote for the “other side”....I get it. So use your vote where it does matter and stop accepting crappy candidates. Toss them out and commit to aiming higher. I would actually consider joining a party again if there was any real integrity overall.

There’s my cynical/optimistic/who knows little plea for the day.
