I'm quite liberal. Open minded, love to help others, give myself to as many I can reach, don't look at others as to their color, so I consider myself LIBERAL.
I see conversatism as the total opposite. THere are exceptions. I have a good friend who has always been a member of the GOP, but she is very generous.

I struggled through life to get where I am today. No one gave me a handout, and I never asked for "help" or "generosity."
Charity sucks and is for the pathetic. Be a man and make something of yourself. Don't depend on some sanctimonious liberal's "help."

So did I. Been self-supporting since I was age 19, including putting myself through college without help and developing a great career through a number of different but challenging jobs. There were several times I got laid off, but I never asked anyone for a handout either. I slogged through downright poverty a few times.
However, that doesn't mean I can't have empathy for those who, through no fault of their own, might need a helping hand or guidance to get up the ladder or on a better track to a worthwhile career or maybe even just a few groceries to tide them over a bad spell. I've been blessed, IMO, and it's part of my purpose as a human being to help other humans. And I'm a liberal-minded Independent, so I make each charitable decision independently, according to the circumstances involved. Sometimes people just need a hand; it doesn't make them "pathetic" - it just makes them "human". Lucky for you to be so perfect.
Democrats definitely have their faults, but at least they aren't trying to close abortion centers, prevent gays from marrying, creating stupid bathroom bills, and shoving their religion down everyones throat. And at least they appear to understand the issues they are creating legislation for.
If the Democrats would drop gun control, they'd definitely be the most ideal party for me. No gun control and enforcing current immigration laws are about the only things I agree with Republicans on.
The goal is simply to treat people of all races, creeds and genders fairly. I know that's a bitter pill for many a conservative, who liked it better when blacks sat at the back of the bus, women stayed home and were obedient to their man, and all those funny looking foreigners weren't around them.
Well, they could have fooled me. Treating people of all races, creeds and genders fairly is a wonderful goal and I'm 100% behind such a goal. However, you've been living under a rock if you think that's the goal of modern liberalism. They think everyone except themselves (elitist whites) and are basically special needs folks and treat them accordingly. Their condescending, "I'm smarter than you and I'm here to take care of you because you're too dumb to do it yourself" attitude is disgraceful and offensive. The irony is that they are too clueless to realize how offensive their behavior is.
