All I can say is that with this massive tax cut for corporations, businesses and the rich get ready for the GOP to start reducing your future social security and Medicare, because wah! the deficit will balloon. Get ready to suffer suckers! Get ready for a horrible old age.

Rich people pay taxes. Poor people don't. So that is why the rich benefit from a tax cut. Sounds like you already have a horrible old age and it has nothing to do with money.

Yes, with disproportionately high tax rates. Sweden has more billionaires per capita than the US. So, I'm sure you'd agree that the US should tax regressively like Sweden! More chances for Americans to become rich

And as for millionaires...

Record many dollar millionaires in Sweden - Radio Sweden | Sveriges Radio

Seems the $2 trillion in created money QE spent by the Federal Reserve to buy F&F MBS backed by loans in default has devalued the US$ comparatively, and has boosted the number of the rich in other countries.

There's no reason it would have to be "regressive"
Actually, there is a very good reason to tax regressively. Read the article AND the research posted at the link:

How other developed countries tax and spend

I'm sure that would go over well with the poor in the US.
That's exactly what makes it regressive. The relatively flat income tax brackets PLUS the 25% national VAT tax that EVERYONE pays impacts the lower income and middle class earners the most.

I've asked that several times but have received no response. Buying consumer goods other than very basic food, clothing, and shelter is voluntary. Carrying a revolving balance on one's credit cards at a 29.99% APR (for example) is voluntary. The middle class is voluntarily enriching others.

That is kind of an important point - and if that was how it was presented to the American people, I doubt you would have as much push back as you predict.
Key question, then... Why don't the Dems propose exactly such a system?

Won’t happen, since most old people vote Republican.

They’ll gut Medicaid and Student Aid, since that will screw over the young whipper snappers who are more liberal.

The "rich" pay the lion's share of taxes so, of course, theirs will be a bigger tax break.
