About $1.20 per person per year. You're going to take Big Bird away from the kids to a save a buck a year? Really?

If a big yellow costume is that important to your children than get yourself one that excuse fell flat the first time it was used decades ago.

Maybe you want to see everyone in the nation forced to send a right wing broadcast a $1.35?

Putting that $400 million toward infrastructure in our roads and bridges, or a sophisticated smart grid for alternative energy, fixing Flint's water problems, or THE WALL --- all would be better allocations than funding for a left-wing propaganda media.

How would the left feel if their taxes went to help fund FOX news or Breitbart or Rush Limbaugh.......

Taking money from PBS does none of those things. It just kills PBS. US culture is fueled by spite right now, so that's good enough for many.

This Old House or Antiques Roadshow: left-wing propaganda.

Yeah take way the FCC and we could be seeing nudity and the 'F' bomb on network TV. People won't allow that.

We fund PBS and we fund public libraries for the same reason: spending relatively small sums of public money to provide information and educational materials to everyone is a valuable public service and it lifts society as a whole. The only people who disagree with that are the Ayn Rand disciples who think that being 100% selfish is the highest state of living.
