Bank of America is giving some employees a $1,000 bonus, citing tax bill

"Beginning in 2018, we will see benefits from the tax reform ... in the form of lower corporate tax rates," CEO Brian Moynihan said in an internal memo to employees obtained by CNBC. He also said that about 145,000 employees will receive the bonus.

Liberals don't seem enthusiastic about these companies sharing the wealth as a result of the tax bill. THis is what I suggest. Whenever you regain control of the government again - and you will at some point - when you pass a huge corporate tax increase, suggest to companies that support your agenda to give out bonuses as a celebration of the tax hike. Let's see how they respond...

Merry Christmas

Damn! I knew I should have applied for a job there last year.

All the employees at those other companies like Boeing, Comcast and others are happy with their raises and bonuses. Companies plan to hire more people, too.

Pelosi and Schumer have been publicly humiliated. They need to retire.

Maybe they should first pay back the taxpayers the money they owe them.

Hell of a PR campaign these businesses are executing. I bet the employees are as snarky as the liberal progressives here. Yeah, but it is only $.48 an hour.

At that pay level who would not welcome a half a buck an hour? Even one time. Opportunity is going to abound for folks who will just reach for it.

Them grapes are sure sour.

How wouldn't want a $1000 handed to them out of the blue by their employer?

You guys are completely losing it.

Slow down friend. I am not one 'you guys'. Was mocking another poster who tried to equate the bonus to a pay increase. Hint: maternally middle aged.

But are they expanding jobs because of the tax break? That's the question you should be interested in answering.

Everyone already knows that if you give corporations more cash they will spend it on M&A, stock repurchase programs, dividends, and bonuses.

Let's see how long this little "show" lasts. All of Trump's donors are playing the game of giving bonuses, and it is all for show. He gave them the tax break they wanted, now they are acting as if it will totally revamp the way they do business and treat their employees. There is something very fishy about all of these companies suddenly being Santa Claus........I smell a rat.

Next year we will see if they are still so generous.
