The government, at all levels, serves one purpose: to gain as much power as possible.

Was the government heavy handed - probably. But how long do they sit out there, waiting on people with unknown brands of weaponry, to comply?

Koresch said he was a follower of the Bible. One of the principles in the New Testament is that you follow the laws in place by the governing body (unless a law violates a biblical principle)... that's Romans 13. If you have illegal weapons, you are not following the laws. He should have just given up his weapons.

Here's the other thing... after reading this, I think Koresch set those fires.

The children spoke about their parents as if they were already dead. On a videotape Perry made, Jaunessa's little brother Landon, then 4, explained how their parents would die in the first battle, but then come back as angels and defeat their enemies: "The bad guys win. Then the good guys win after them because they get up to the angels and burn the bad guys."

The children were reluctant to open up to the strangers at first, but soon began to confide in them, saying the Davidians were planning to die in the compound.

Perry didn't believe them at first, until Jaunessa drew a picture that brought it home: the picture showed the compound engulfed in flames, with steps leading up to heaven. When he asked her what the picture meant, she told him, "You'll find out."

I'm not a supporter of over-reaching government, but this is more on Koresch.

A valid point in regard to Reno. Waco wasn't the only misuse of force by Reno and the Clinton Administration. Ruby Ridge was another. Ruby ridge more than Waco is what pushed many on the right to become anti-government. Ruby ridge inspired the creation of more than a few militias. Ruby Ridge and Waco are said to be what motivated the Oklahoma City bombing.

Waco. I remember when it happened. As a nation we were stunned. People can try to make excuses for the heavy handed use of force, but the America I love is supposed to be better than that. The police knew that the compound had many children inside.

No. If you wanted to arrest hum, he took regular jogs alone through the countryside. If you wanted to serve a search warrant, you just needed to walk up to the door and knock, the way the local sheriff did when he dealt with them.

During the Bush administration the same scenario happened. They waited it out with no violence and it all dissipated in time, No heavy hand by Bush and no loss of life.

They could have peacefully taken Koresh on one of his many trips into town, but then the govt thugs wouldn't have been able to use all the cool toys they bought with our money.
ATF agents who kill women and children while hiding behind a govt ID badge are the very definition of cowardly

Waco, Ruby Ridge, lying to us daily about Viet Nam, experimenting on soldiers by giving them VD. Why should we trust our government?

So, you don’t want them in charge of your health with essentially no accountability for them?

Have you seen the rehire rate at the IRS for employees fired for all sorts of things like cheating on their own taxes?

Or at the conferences he attended. Or any time he went into town. They were tracking him 24/7. They knew exactly where he was at all times.

But they waited till he was GONE and THEN approached the home of women and children with severe intimidation and violence. And ultimately killed them. Because why exactly? What were the women and children guilty of? Living in their OWN HOME? Refusing to leave their house?

Sick sick sick. And so many still do not understand what really happened.
