if daniels had approached trump/cohen with the 130k demand it would be a shakedown but...... i think it's more likely that cohen approached daniels with the offer. we now know of two other women that probably have NDA's with trump/cohen and according to steve bannon there were "a hundred" more during the campaign. i think that number is ridiculously exaggerated, as are most numbers in the trump universe, but i'd be willing to bet that the actual number is a lot greater than 3.

She has already very likely gotten money for interviews, I'm not naive.

But yeah, she's certainly looking for a multi-million dollar interview, book deal etc and needs that NDA to be kaput.

So sure, this later part isn't a shakedown.

Again, I have no sympathy for Trump on pretty much any level. Just calling it for what it is. Also, I never said she pretended to be anything different. She got 10k or whatever to bone Trump. I have no problem with her doing so, I'm not the morality police.
You do realize that you can't cash a check without signing it, don't you?

Trump wants something without signing for it.

Today, I watched a clip of Stephen Colbert interviewing a young comic who is on a popular TV show now.

In essence, Colbert couldn't have come off as more patronizing. He oozed a superior air that was pretty repellent. The kid was a good sport, but also looked bemused with Colbert's generally arrogant persona. Colbert came off as someone who was going through a routine.

I had noticed this before when Colbert did an interview with Jerry Seinfeld (on Seinfeld's show). Jerry also having a bit of an ego, but Colbert's was obviously dominant in the exchange. The two didn't look like they got along whatsoever, except to be polite on camera.

Once someone cannot resist oozing a superior arrogance on camera, they should call late night television quits imo. Its only going to go bad from there when he increasingly alienates a lot of the country. Especially given his political nature. And, while I grant that he's a talented sketch performer (always was), his interviews are the "Colbert Show", if you get my meaning, and thus aren't fun to watch.

you don't necessarily need a signature, just proof that there was a "meeting of the minds". cohen could have argued that by accepting the 130k daniels accepted trump's terms but....... cohen really screwed the pooch by stating that trump had no knowledge of the NDA. obviously there can't be a "meeting of the minds" if one party doesn't know it exists.

It just makes you wonder how many other women are out there that Trump has had sexual relationships that are silenced due to legal agreements and payoffs. Not that any of these extramarital affairs hinder POTUS Trump from doing his job, but it saddens me that the White House has turned into a circus with all these sideshow scandals.
You know there have been others. It's simple, just be a deplorable guy with $$ and then you can do whatever you want, get away with everything. ("If you're a star, they let you do anything... grab 'em by the .....". - Donald Trump).

It's a circus, alright...so ridiculous and pointless. (And we could have had a real president instead, and none of this B. S.).

Good point!

This Cohen is really good at digging...his own grave:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ays/440629002/

Does he think a “competent jurisdiction” will be sympathetic to the nonsense he has been spewing? Dear lord, just disbar him now so he doesn’t have to go around pretending he’s a competent or ethical lawyer. Rule 1.8, NY Rules of Professional Conduct. Give it to him.

Trump is now suing her for $20 million for violating a non-disclosure agreement he didn't sign preventing her from talking about a sexcapade that didn't happen. His attorney alleges he paid her hush money not to talk about what didn't happen with a credit line loan against his house, channelled through an LLC set up illegally just to make the payment, but was never reimbursed. He complained to friends about not being repaid.

If Trump knew he was supposed to repay the loan then he is guilty of having an affair that never happened. If he didn't know about the hush money, his lawyer became a felon by breaking campaign finance laws with a contribution far exceeding the allowable limit, a crime which has previousy sent people to jail for a while, and one that will almost certainly result in his disbarment.

Did I miss anything?
Lol.. no... and what a tangled web he wove.....

Perfect. Yeah, it's funny how some are so blind to the reality of the negative acts and events by their leader.
