Who wants completely open borders? I've never seen anyone advocate for that.
I think your misunderstanding some things.
The Founding Fathers did. They wanted this to be a "safe space" for anyone seeking liberty. Open borders, free trade, and a populace of citizens and immigrants who have not yet naturalized living and working together are core to our foundation.
Note that all rights extend to all people with the exception of voting and running for office being restricted to citizens.
Tens of millions of Americans would be impacted by this, both democratic and republican voters. Millions of American children would not have food to eat.
Why punish children that have no way of changing their situation nor are responsible for being born to mooching parents?
Children should not benefit from their parent's law breaking it's not punishment for the children. What do you mean millions of American children would not have food to eat? Millions of Americans and their children would benefit with the exit of illegal aliens out of our country.

Well we have immigration laws today because it's a whole lot different today in many ways. The founding fathers did not advocate for open borders either.
Here is my compromise to the open border advocates.
I will agree to completely open borders, if all the entire welfare state public assistance of any kind is stopped completely and never to return.... and full repeal of the 16th Amendment.
Is it a deal?
I’d deal as long as we add they can’t become citizens or vote and their children can’t become citizens either.
We keep falling into the "think of the children" trap instead of expecting people to be responsible for their own children. We actually encourage our own problems.
go spend a week in London if you think you like open borders...
