Look, I gave her the chance to empower other women, young and old, on a subject which she purports to know well and she rejected it. That’s okay. But I have no regrets about the question," Kelly went on. "Nor am I in the market for a lesson from Jane Fonda on what is and is not appropriate.
"After all, this is a woman whose name is synonymous with outrage,” she said. “Look at her treatment of our military during the Vietnam war, many of our veterans still call her ‘Hanoi Jane’ thanks to her radio broadcasts which attempted to shame American troops. She posed on an anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down our pilots. She called our POW's "hypocrites and liars" and referred to their torture as understandable. Even she had to apologize years later for that gun picture -- but not for the rest of it."
Megyn Kelly is another media pundit who doesn't know which side of her muffin is buttered.

Oh don't lecture us about starting useless threads.

Is this news worthy?
Evidently. You wasted your breath on it.

Ah brother, now we gotta bog the useless thread down with useless facts, and a point.
She brings up a great point, framed it properly and defended it perfectly. I am no Megyn Kelly fan, but from debate perspective, she was on point in this instance.
If Fonda is not promoting health/beauty for women in their 70s-80s, the question is indeed inappropriate. But Fonda touring around promoting her latest "how to feel and look great like me" product, and Kelly is perfectly reasonable to point out that "look like..." might be a tall order for te average person not possessed with Fonda's access to top shelf cosmetic surgery out the wazoo, so maybe "feel great, try hard, be happy with you..." empowering is indeed a better, more intellectually honest message.
Fonda, like many leftist icons, rarely if ever has anyone call them on their glaring hypocrisy and tone deafness. Good for Kelly. I still find her annoying as hell, but she scored that time, no doubt.
I'm on Megyn's side. Why did Fonda suddenly say she wasn't proud to admit the cosmetic surgery? Before she talked about it in glowing terms. How wonderful it made her feel. For her outsides to match her insides.
It was a good question. Megyn was encouraging her to be proud of it, and to empower other women to feel good about it if that is what they want to do.
Fonda was in the wrong to complain about that on and on after that interview.
Hanoi Jane, that is from waaaaaay back in the day. Was Megyn Kelly even alive during the Vietnam War? It was just such a Fox News thing to do. Pick an insulting nickname that gives 70 year old men a woody and let the hate flow. She really just needs to go back to right wing hate media.

She pretty much didn't like that Jane said a question was inappropriate, so she decided to rant on something said many decades ago, regardless of the fact that Jane apologized for it.
