Even the Hanoi Jane comment had context. Kelly was simply pointing out that she wasn't in the wrong to begin with, and even if she was, taking a scolding from Fonda on what is and is not appropriate is absurdly hypocritical and tone deaf.
Fonda surrendered her right to ever scold anyone on what constitutes inappropriate commentary. She gave that right away when she did propaganda for the Viet Cong.

Jane made comments that she apologized for.
And let's be realllllly honest with ourselves, her comments weren't totally wrong when taken in context in regards to the conduct of many of our soldiers, in a country that we should not have been in, helping an ally that should never have been there either, to fend off a communist regime that wasn't our battle to fight.
It was a largely unpopular war, and many americans that dared to protest it were labeled "traitors". My father and my uncles, all fought in Vietnam, and they all agree, looking back, that we were not all that great either over there.
But, as usual, and it's VERY par for the course in this country, for its citizens to want to brush aside the atrocities we commit in other countries.

She will always be Fox News, it was a mistake to leave. Her personality and ideology are not a good fit for morning fluff tv. Hard to believe that the same woman that made a career selling rage to old white men thought she could pull off this transition. She should have stuck to selling racism like White Santa to aging baby boomers.
