Both of these guys( Manafort and Gates) would have gotten away with it ifNOTfor hitching their wagon to DJT ( who knew full well what they were all about)! No one would ever accept credible DJT was ( and Pence too) uninformed !! DJT is well known as a "Micro-Manager" and knows ALL and directs his people to do sh$t! IF Trump claims ignorance It simply discredited!! DJT and collusion with Manafort/Gates who are documented prior and during DJT's campaign as FOREIGN agents!! ALL connected to Russian/Putin! Nothing financially occurs in Russia without PUTIN sign offs or DIRECTIONS!!

I kinda doubt that Mueller made a deal with Gates to put more pressure on Manafort. The indictments against him already ensure that he'll die in prison if he's convicted.
