Sure, just like all of the people being arrested for using/buying/selling pot across the country right? It's still a federal crime regardless of how many states pass laws making it legal. Many states have done the same thing with the 2nd amendment and firearm laws. 8 states have passed laws, 37 have proposed them. Utah and Kansas have laws stating guns made, purchased and used in the state are exempt from federal laws. Other states have passed laws saying they won't help the feds enforce federal law - sound familiar? Just like liberal "sanctuary states/cities" except these people are protecting AMERICANS not illegals, so of course the left is against these laws.
You're never going to get 3/4 of the states to vote for your repeal of the 2nd amendment.
Nobody but you said anything about repealing the Second Amendment. Read what I said again and edit your comment, and I will respond.
BTW - in case you aren't aware, the Australian law wasn't a general gun ban. They have more firearms in circulation there now than they did in 1996, but a far different mix.

I am independent and think it can stay, but we need to start requiring a license to own guns, and to get a license you need to take safety course, drug test, mental evaluation and background check.
NRA should go back to being a CLUB and GET OUT of our Constitution. They are violating my life liberty and pursuit of happiness by forcing a mangling of the 2nd ammendment for profit and profiting off the sale of weapons of mass destruction of children.
