The gunman was subdued and his gun taken away. When the police arrived, guess who they shot...?

Exactly what we have been saying about arming teachers.

Police just shot the wrong man in a church hostage situation in Texas (WATCH)

Yeah we get it, you want things to stay the same and schools to be shooting galleries.

Because police have been instructed to shoot first and ask questions later, so they go home to their family.
With all the police assassinations in the last 8 years, they are on edge, with an itchy trigger finger in a Hot Situation.

Police shoot unarmed people daily. Holding a weapon in your hand, is sure to get their attention quick.
The unintended consequences of unelected law enforcement. No accountability.

Yep cops are dangerous. Doesn't negate my right to self defense.

Exactly.

This speaks to my recent thinking on disarming all government agents at every level first, then waiting a few years and disarming the people. Clearly, the military and law enforcement need to be disarmed. It's common sense and would have saved this kid's life.

As the Left consistently says: "If it saves just one life it's worth it".

Exactly. Cops make mistakes sometimes. Citing an isolated incident is pretty lame. Yeah, let's base policy on outliers.

First: One must take each situation as it comes and handle it as necessary.

Second: The guy wasn't a gun handler, or he'd have known there was no significant danger in dropping it.

Third: He was dumb.

The only thing this case proves is that more people need to know how to handle guns and how to handle police. One of the first things I'd do in such a situation is keep 911 on the line the entire time and keep repeating "Don't shoot the old black guy with the gray beard!" And I'd make sure there was no gun in my hand when the police arrived.

Predictably now the template for all the gun grabbers will be to run every story they can find like this.....all this guy had to do was drop the damn gun and he would have been fine.....
