Wondering if a blue wave will impact Georgia in this year's election, due to the GA GOP being in bed with the NRA. GA is not as red as many other southern states.
GA Results of 2016 election- Trump: 50.4%, Clinton: 45.3%.
Yes, the strange and foolish move by the Georgia Congress may give Amazon pause. They don't care if Georgia is predominately conservative or liberal, but they probably do want to operate in an environment of intelligent leadership and regulation, which apparently doesn't exist in that state.
If Amazon is going to dictate a place's politics, that place is wise to keep Amazon out.
In this case it wouldn't be Amazon dictating the state's politics, it would be Amazon reacting to the state's politics. That's a different thing. And it's an effect that was caused wholly and completely by the Georgia GOP.
I hope the people of Georgia realize the policies of their elected politicians are driving potential big employers out of the state.

Agreed. One of the things to remember is that Amazon is looking for a place with a large international hub, where shipping could be quick and hopefully cheaper. If the Georgia GOP plays games with the most major airline in Atlanta, Amazon is likely going to look at how this could affect *their* bottom line, and decide that the hassle ain't gonna be worth it.

Hardly, I would not want a company like Amazon coming to my state if this is the kind of thing they base huge decisions on.
Amazon is not that great a place to work anyway, the multiple Amazon distribution centers in northern KY are constantly trying to hire new people to replace those who quit without notice, the turnover percentage is absolutely thru the roof! New hires quitting suddenly is huge problem for Amazon.

If Georgia is going to dictate a place’s politics, the business is free to take a pass on the state.
Delta made the business decision to stay out of the political debate.
It would likely cost Delta more to relocate its headquarters than absorb the elimination of the tax cut so they are not likely going anywhere.
UAL also eliminated the seldom used NRA group travel discount.
American and Southwest never offered a discount.
What’s next for Georgia? Will they take on Walmart?
