Yet another sign of the intense distrust Americans have for this administration. No one wants to work under this administration. Trump is unable to fill needed diplomatic posts in the State Department. He is now contemplating hiring outside help to deal with NK: https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/07/polit...ert/index.html

It’s probably going to end up being a random collection of “pretty Korean ladies”: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ty-korean-lady

You don't say?

EVERY dept lacks expertise under Trump.

Do you really have to go further than Rick Perry being in charge of Nuclear Weapons? Former heads of Energy Dept. were the top scientists and physicist in the USA. Perry wanted to abolish that dept. and he didn't even know what it did.

You really couldn't make this stuff up.

Let's be honest: ALL departments are suffering from diminished expertise under Trump. Horrendous cronyism. We remember he'd hired a truck driver and a cabana boy for Agriculture:

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/...workers-242951

And, hey, isn't his elevation of Jared proof of his indifference to expertise?

Your post reminded me that I meant to post an article about Tillerson wrecking the State Department, so I just went ahead with that.

Our State Department has lacked expertise since forever. That’s why we keep ending up in disastrous wars.

The State Department is shoddy because the Pentagon is now the center of foreign policy making. The United States doesn’t do statecraft anymore...we do bullying and wars.

This malaise predates Trump.

Sure, a lot of truth in that.

But if our grade was a solid D before, it's a F now. The State Dept. isn't about wars...it's supposed to be about representing the "shining city on the hill" on a worldwide basis. However, our approval overseas has went from 48% in 2016 to 30% in 2017.
Trump Is the Worst Salesman America Has Ever Had – Foreign Policy

Just because one is doing poorly in the first place is no excuse to do even worse than that!

I may have, but do tell, I was stationed in SK at Camp Humphreys (now known as United States Army Garrison Humphreys from 2005 - 2009), what did I forget?
