Only 36% of Americans want a border wall built to keep out Mexicans. Why not have a fund for those who care about this issue so much to fund it themselves? Sort of like an Adopt-a-Highway for the paranoid.

Because there always has been border walls - and there will likely always be some kind of border walls, and I'm sure most Americans support the basics of border walls in certain places.

Are you suggesting that we tear down all the walls - like at the border in San Diego/Tijuana? I don't think that's a good idea and I am definitely a "never Trumper".

The key is to spend money wisely. We need comprehensive immigration reform. Also, most people who are not citizens and in America are on Visas and fly in. Then just overstay their Visas...etc.

The actual cost of improving border security is quite small. I'd for doing as they have always done - and that is always updating it and getting smarter about it. As far as some kind of massive project - this is somewhat ridiculous if the Congress is not willing to write immigration reform into law. Once that is done, we can have a national conversation about things.

But the GOP has proven they don't want immigration reform. They don't like to settle "wedge" issues because they lose talking points. Back when (under Bush and Obama) some bipartisan Senators tried to get it going....but the "radicals" (most of the GOP these days" killed it. Remember - McConnell said job #1 was not letting anything get done under Obama.

We don't really have to worry about paying for the wall. Just let Trump be in charge of it, he will stiff every person and company who worked on it, and we won't have to pay a penny !

Problem solved, and he has LOTS of experience in that area !

I bet you could fund the wall just through sales of MAGA baseball caps!

To keep costs under control, he could always hire another contractor who uses illegal Polish workers.

And then pretend he didn't know.

Since you want illegals in this country, how about you pay the many billions each year that they've cost the taxpayers. And, why don't you make obama pay back the billions he stole to give to his buddies, which was about twice the amount of the estimated cost of the wall .. bet you didn't even grumble about him doing that, huh?

An excellent idea. The others can pay for illegals healthcare and welfare. Guess which costs more?
