Trump is a business man doing international business. Business encouraged by the US government as a hedge against escalating acrimony. Especially encouraged with legacy non friendlies. Philosophy, if the country is making money they are less likely to cause trouble.
Trump was not elected and according to just about everyone, was not going to win the presidency. So if he had a deal going, why would he end it as his future path was in question.
In 2012 Obama corrected Mitt, saying Russia was not out enemy.
Earlier Hillary gave Russia a reset button to smooth over US ruissia relations. It sure appears Trump was supporting Hillary and Obama by doing business with Russia.
Trump Jr stated himself that “And in terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia".
Why would they accept the uncertainty of dealing with financial institutions in Russia than more traditional lenders in the US, Europe and the Pacific Rim?
Trump threatened a "red line" if Mueller began digging into his family's financial dealings.
So now that the Democrats have announced he was negotiating with a sanctioned Russian bank and Mueller has subpoenaed records of his family's financial dealings and is, presumably, digging into them, what has been Trump's response?
