Trump Organization likely needed money because of the Post Office hotel conversion.

"Colony Capital, a private-equity firm based out of Los Angeles and run by
Thomas Barrack , has stepped out of a partnership with Trump Hotels to finance the redevelopment of the Old Post Office, according to the Washington Post ."

This is right around the time and a big reason to talk with the Russians.

Trump was stuck and needed over $200mm quick to finish the project.

I like these wild unsubstantiated "opinions".

Trump lied to his followers just like he lied to our allies. The man just can’t tell the truth.

Trump has been trying to hide Putin's weenie all along.

Soon we will all find out where the weenie is located. Unfortunately, it will be found in a place that causes much embarrassment to both the POTUS and our country.

What an awful mistake we've made by allowing such a court jester to continue to perform at the risk of losing our honor, our security, our democracy, and our Republic.

We seriously need to dissolve the electoral college in order to ensure that such a colossal fluke never happens again...

Donald Trump's private company was “actively negotiating” a business deal in Moscow with a sanctioned Russian bank during the 2016 election campaign, according to a memo by Democratic lawmakers

Trump is a business man doing international business. Business encouraged by the US government as a hedge against escalating acrimony. Especially encouraged with legacy non friendlies. Philosophy, if the country is making money they are less likely to cause trouble.

Trump was not elected and according to just about everyone, was not going to win the presidency. So if he had a deal going, why would he end it as his future path was in question.

In 2012 Obama corrected Mitt, saying Russia was not out enemy.

Earlier Hillary gave Russia a reset button to smooth over US ruissia relations. It sure appears Trump was supporting Hillary and Obama by doing business with Russia.

TDS apparently is terminal.

Trump Jr stated himself that “And in terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia".

Why would they accept the uncertainty of dealing with financial institutions in Russia than more traditional lenders in the US, Europe and the Pacific Rim?

Trump threatened a "red line" if Mueller began digging into his family's financial dealings.

So now that the Democrats have announced he was negotiating with a sanctioned Russian bank and Mueller has subpoenaed records of his family's financial dealings and is, presumably, digging into them, what has been Trump's response?

Any tweets? Any public comments?

Or is he preoccupied with WH musical chairs and hasn't noticed yet?

Why everybody who plays at that level violates the law. Didn't you know that?

That's why we need to get rid of those pesky regulations and laws.

Seems Trump's Russian/American business partner should be more cautious in light of Putin's death squad operations in the UK.
