"The statement by Democrats on the House intelligence committee, who have had access to internal Trump Organization documents and interviewed key witnesses, raises new questions about the Trump Organization’s financial ties to Russia and its possible willingness to deal with a bank that had been placed under US sanctions."

So this was really the reason to wrap up the House investigation.

My guess is that the entire Trump organization is swimming in laundered Russian money, and obviously that means it's tied to Putin because Russian ogligarchs are tied to Putin. Now, this isn't treason, but it's certainly up there past being a pig in the oval office and lying about it.

Is negotiating with them a crime, or just actually making a agreement? I know it sounds like quibbling. Is the intent to do it enough to charge them?

I honestly do not know the answer. Anyone here know?

It is important to note this new accusation is about Trump negotiation and not Kushner. We already knew about Kushner meeting with executive from sanctioned Russian bank.

Good question. Finding an actual answer on what the penalty for evading the sanctions is proving to be tough.

I am looking for the history.

Seems I missed this story in the noise.

“Last night, we reported that Democrats on the Intelligence Committee had unexpectedly released a 21-page document in response to the Republicans shutting down the Russian investigation in the House,” Maddow noted.

However, Mueller appears to have picked up on it immediately and issued a subpoena to Trump Organization. Likely, he was interested in this specific topic.
